Kafir Refrences in the Koran

Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears by reason of the thunder-claps, for fear of death. Allah encompasseth disbelievers.

'Aw kasayyi-bim-minas- samaaa-’ifiihizulumaatuhw-wa ra‘-dunw-wa barq: yaj-'aluuna 'asaabi-'ahum fiii 'aazaani- him-minas-§awaa-‘iql- hazaral-mawt. Wallaahu Muhiitum-bil-kaafiriin.

And if ye do it not—and ye can never do it—then guard yourselves against the fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones.

Fa-’illam-taf-‘aluu wa lantaf-'aluufattaqun-Naaral-latii waquudu-han-naasu wal- hijaaratu ’u-‘iddat lil-Kaafiriin.

And when We said unto the angels : Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever

Wa ’iz qulnaa lil-malaaa- ’ikatis-juduu li-’Aadama fasajaduuu ’illaaa Tbliis: ’abaa was-takbara wa kaana minal- Kaafiriin.

And believe in that which I reveal, confirming that which ye possess already (of the Scripture), and be not first to disbelieve therein, and part not with My revelations for a trifling price, and keep your duty unto Me

Wa ’aaminuu bimaaa 'anzaltu muçaddiqal-limaa ma- 'a-kum wa laa takuunuuu 'awwala kaafirim-bih. Wa laa tash-taruu bi-’Aayaatii §amanan qallilaa; wa 'iyyaaya fattaquun.

And when there cometh unto them a Scripture from Allah confirming that in their posse- ssion-though before that they were asking for a signal triumph over those who disbelieved-and when there cometh unto them that which they know (to be the Truth) they disbelieve therein.The curse of Allah is on disbelievers.

Wa lammaa jaaa-'ahum them a Scripture from Allah, Kitaabum-min ‘indillaahi musaddiqul-limaa ma-’ahum wa kaanuu min-qablu yastafti- huuna ‘alal-la?iina kafaruu,- falammaa jaaa-’ahum-maa- ‘arafuu kafaruu bihii fala‘- natullaahi ‘alal-Kaafiriin

Evil is that for which they sell their souls: that they should dis­believe in that which Allah hath revealed, grudging that Allah should reveal of His bounty unto whom He will of His bondmen. They have incurred anger upon anger. For disbelievers is a shameful doom.

Bi'-sa-mash-taraw bihiii ’anfusahum ’any-yakfuruu bi- maaa-’anzalallaahu bagyan ’any-yunazzilal-laahu min- fazlihii ‘alaa many-yashaaa-’u min ‘ibaadih. Fabaaa-’uu bi- gazabin ‘alaa gazab. Wa lil Kaafiriina ‘azaabum-muhiin.

Who is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (Himself) is an enemy to the disblievers.

Man-kaana ‘aduwwal-lil- laahi wa malaaa-’ikatihii wa rusulihii wa Jibriila wa Miikaala fa-’innallaaha ‘aduwwullil- kaafiriin.

O ye who believe, say not (unto the Prophet): “Listen to us” but say “Look upon us,” and be ye listeners. For disbelievers is a painful doom.

Yaaa-’ayyu-hallaziina’aa- manuu laa taquuluu raa-‘inaa wa quulungurnaa wasma-‘uu. Wa lil-Kaafiriina ‘a?aabun ’aliim.

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there), then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers.

Waq-tuluuhum haysu saqif-tumuuhum wa 'akhrijuu- hum-min hay-§u 'akhrajuukum wal-fitnatu 'ashaddu minal-qatl. Wa laa tuqaatiluuhum ‘indal- Masjidil-Haraami hattaa yu- qaatiluukum fiih; fa-’in-qaata- luukumfaqtuluuhum. Kazaalika jazaaa-’ul-kaafiriin

They question thee (O Muhammad) with regard to warfare in the sacred month. Say: Warfare therein is a great (transgression), but to turn (men) from the way of Allah, and to disbelieve in Him and in the Inviolable Place of Worship, and to expel his people thence, is a greater with Allah; for persecution is worse than killing. And they will not cease from fighting against you till they have made you renegades from your religion, if they can. And whoso of you becometh a renegade and dieth in his disbeiief, such are they whose works have fallen both in the world and the Hereafter. Such are rightful owners of the Fire: they will abide therein.

Yas-’aluunaka ‘anish- Shahril-Haraami qitaalin-fiih. Qui qitaalun-fiihi kabiir. Wa saddun ‘an-sabiilillaahi wa kufrum-bihii wal-Masjidil- Haraami wa ’ikh-raaju ’ahlihii minhu ’akbaru ‘ihdallaah. Wal- fitnatu ’akbaru minal-qatl. Wa laa yazaaluuna yuqaatiluuna- kum hattaa yarud-duu- kum ‘an-Diinikum ’ini stataa-‘uu. Wa many-yartadid minkum ‘an-Diinihii fayamut wa huwa kaafirun-fa-‘ulaaa-’ika habitat’a‘-maaluhum fid-dunyaa wal-’Aakhirah. Wa ’ulaaa-’ika 'As-haabun-Naari hum fiihaa khaaliduun

O ye who believe! Spend of that wherewith We have provided you ere a day come when there will be no trafficking, nor friendship, nor intercession. The disbelievers, they are the wrong­doers.

Yaaa-’ayyuhallaziina 'aa- manuuu ’anfiquu mimmaa ra- zaqnaakum - min-qabli 'arty-ya'- tiya Yawmul-laa bay-‘un-fiihi wa laa khullatunw-wa laa shafaa- ‘ah. Wal-kaafiruuna humuz- ?aalimuun.

ye who believe! Render not - vain your almsgiving by reproach his wealth only to be seen of men and believeth not in Allah and the Last Day. His likeness is as the likeness of a rock whereon is dust of earth; a rainstrom smiteth it, leaving it smooth and bare. They have no control of aught of that which they have gained. Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk

Yaaa-'ayyu-hallaziina’aa- h manuu laa tub-tiluu sadaqaati- and injury like him who spendeth kum-bil-manniwal-’azaakallazii yunfiqu maalahuu ri-’aaa- 'annaasi walaayu’-minubillaahi wal-Yawmil-’Aakhir. Famasaluhuu kamagali gaf- waanin ‘alayhi turaabun- fa-'asaabahuu waabilun- fatarakahuu galdaa. Laa yaqdiruuna ‘alaa shay-’im- mimmaa kasabuu. Wallaahu laa yahdil-qawmal-kaafiriin

There was a token for you in two hosts which met: one army fighting in the way of Allah, and another disbelieving, whom they saw as twice their number, clearly with their very eyes. Thus Allah strengthened with His succour whom He will. Lo ! herein verily is a lesson for those who have eyes

Qad kaana lakum ’Aaya- tun-fii fi-'ataynil-taqataa: fi-’atun-tuqaa-tilu fii Sabii-lil- laahi wa ’ukhraa kaafiratuny- yaraw-nahum-mis-layhim ra’-yal-‘ayn. Wallaahu yu- 'ayyidu bi-nasrihii many-ya- shaaa'. ’Inna fii zaalika la-‘ib- ratal-li-’ulil-’absaar.

Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security. Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself. Unto Allah is the Journeying

Laa yattakhi?il-Mu’-mi- nuunal-kaafiriina ’awliyaaa-’a min-duunil-Mu’-miniin. Wa many-yaf-’al ?aalika fa-laysa minallaahi fii shay-’in ’illaaa ’an- tattaquu minhum tuqaah. Wa yuf)a?ziru-kumullaahu Nafsah; wa 'ilallaahil-maçiir

Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger. But if they turn away, lo ! Allah loveth not the dis­believers (in His guidance

Qui 'atii-’ullaaha war-Rasuul:fa-’in- tawallaw fa-’innallaaha laa yuhibbul-Kaafiriin

How can ye disbelieve, when Allah’s revelations are recited unto you, and His messenger is in your midst ? He who holdeth fast to Allah, he indeed is guided unto a right path

Yaaa-’ayyuhal-laziina 'aa- manuuu ’iri-tutii-’uu fariiqam- minallaziina ’uutul-Kitaaba ya- rudduukum-ba‘-da ’iimaani-kum kaafiriin

And ward off (from yoursel­ves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers.

Wattaqun-Naarallatiii 'u- ‘iddat lil-kaafiriin.

And that Allah may prove those who believe an.

Wali-yumabhisal-laahul- laziina 'aamanuu wa yamhaqal- kaafiriin

Their cry was only that they said: Our Lord ! Forgive us for our sins and wasted efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.

Wa maa kaana qawlahum 'illaaa 'an-qaaluu Rabbanag-fir lanaa ?unuubanaa wa ’israa- fanaa fiii 'amrinaa wa sabbit ’aqdaamanaa wan-sumaa ‘alal- qawmil-kaafiriin

Who hoard their wealth and enjoin avarice on others, and hide that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty. For disbelievers We prepare a shameful doom

’Allaziina yab-khaluuna wa ya’-muruu-rannaasa bil-bukhli wa yaktumuuna maaa 'aataa- humullaahu min-fazlih; wa ’a‘- tadnaa lil-kaafiriina ‘azaabam- muhiinaa;—

And when ye go forth in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail (your) worship if ye fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.

Wa ’izaa zarab-tum fil-’arzi fa-laysa ‘alaykum junaa-hun ’an- taq-suruu minas-§alaa-ti 'in khif- tum ’any-yaftina-ku-mul-laziina kafaruu: ’innal-kaafiriina kaanuu lakum ‘aduw-wam-mubiinaa.

And when thou (O Muhammad) art among them and arrangest (their) worship for them let only a party of them stand with thee (to worship) and let them take their arms. Then when they have performed their prostrations let them fall to the rear of you and let another party come that hath not worshipped and let them worship with thee, and let them take their precaution and their arms.Those who disbelieve long for you to neglect your arms and your baggage that they may attack you once for all. It is no sin for you to lay aside your arms, if rain impedeth you or ye are sick. But take your precaution. Lo ! Allah prepareth for the disbelievers shameful punishment

Wa ’i?aa kunta fiihim fa- ’aqamta lahumus-Çalaata fal- taqumtaaa-’ifatum-minhum-ma- ‘aka wal-ya’-khuzuuu 'asli- hatahum: fa-'i?aa sajaduu fal- yakuunuu rnihw-w araaa-’ikum. Wal-ta’ti taaa-’ifatun ’ukh-raa lam yu-salluu fal-yu-çalluu ma-‘aka wal-ya’-khuzuu hizra-hum wa ’asli-hatahum. Waddalla?iina kafaruu lawtag-fuluuna ‘an ’asli- hatikum wa ’amti-‘ati-kum faya- miiluuna ‘alaykum-may-latafiw- waahidah. Wa laa junaaha ‘alaykum 'in-kaana bi-kum ’azam- mim-matarin ’aw kuntum- marjaaa ’an-taza-'uuu ’asli- hatakum: wa khu?uu hiz-rakum. 'Innallaaha 'a-‘adda lil-kaafiriina ‘azaabam-muhiinaa

Those who choose disbelievers for their friends instead of believers: Do they look for power at their hands? Lo! all power appertaineth to Allah

’Allaziina yattakhi-zuunal- kaafiriina ’aw-liyaaa-’a mih- duunil-Mu’-miniin: 'a-yabta- guuna ’inda-humul-’izzata fa- ’innal-’izzata lillaahi jamii-’aa?

He hath already revealed unto you in the Scripture that when ye hear the revelations of Allah re­jected and derided, (ye) sit not with them (who disbelieve and mock) until they engage in some other conversation. Lo! in that case (if ye stayed) ye would be like unto them Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers, all together, into hell

Wa qad nazzala ‘alaykum fil-Kitaabi 'an 'izaa sami'-tum ’Aayaa-tillaahiyukfaru bihaa wayustah-za-’u bihaa falaa taq- ‘uduu ma-‘ahum hattaa yakhuuzuu fii hadii§in gayrih. ’Innakum ’izam-mi§luhum. 'Innallaàba jaami-’ul- Munaa-fiqiina wal-kaafiriina fii Jahannama jamii-‘aa

Those who wait upon occasion in regard to you and, if a victory cometh unto you from Allah, say: Are we not with you? and if the disbelievers meet with a success, say: Had we not the mastery of you, and did we not protect you from the believers? Allah will judge between you at the Day of Resurrection, and Allah will not give the disbelievers any way (of success) against the believers

’Allaziina yatarab-basuu- na bikum: fa-’in-kaana lakum fat-hum-minallaahi qaaluuu 'alam nakum-ma-‘akum? Wa 'in- kaana lil-kaafiriina nasii-bun- qaaluuu ’alam nastah-wiz ‘alaykum wa namna’-kum minal- Mu’-miniin? Fallaahu yah-kumu baynakum Yawmal-Qiyaamah. Wa lahy-yaj-‘alallaa-hu lil- kaafiriina ‘alal-Mu’-mi-niina sabiilaa.

Such are disbelievers in truth; and for disbelievers We prepare a shameful doom

’Ulaaa-’ika humul-kaafi- ruuna haqqaa; wa 'a’-tadnaa lil- kaafiriina ‘azaabam-muhii-naa.

And of their taking usury when they were forbidden it, and of their devouring people’s wealth by false pretences. We have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful doom.

Wa ’akh-?ihimur-Ribaa wa qad nuhuu ‘anhu wa ’akli- him ’amwaa-lannaasi bil-baa- til;—wa ’a‘-tadnaa lil-kaafiriina min hum ‘ azaaban 'alimaa

Lo ! We did reveal the Torah wherein is guidance and a light, by which the Prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests ( judged) by such of Allah’s Scriptures as they were bidden to observe; and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And barter not My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are dis­believers

'Innaaa’anzalnat-Tawraa- tafiihaa Hudanw-wa Nuur. Yah- kumu bihan-nabiy-yuu-nal- laziina 'aslamuu lillaziina haaduu war-Rabbaa-niyyuuna wal- ’ahbaaru bimas-tuhfizuu min- Kitaa-billaahi wa kaanuu ‘alayhi shuha-daaa’. Falaa takhsha- wunnaasa wakh-shaw-ni wa laa tash-taruu bi-’Aa-yaatii samanan-qaliilaa. Wa mallam- yah-kum-bimaaa ’an-zalal- laahu fa-’ulaaa-’ika hu-mul- kaafiruun

O ye who believe ! Whoso of you becometh a renegade from his religion (know that in his stead) Allah will bring a people whom He loveth and who love Him; humble toward believers, stern toward disbelievers, striving in the way of Allah, and fearing not the blame of any blamer. Such is the grace of Allah which He giveth unto whom He will. Allah is All- Embracing, All-Knowing

Yaaa-’ayyu-hallaziina’aa- manuu many-yar-tadda min- kum ‘an-Diinihii fa-sawfa ya’- tillaahu bi-qawminy-yu-bibbu- hum wa yuhib-buunahuuu ’a?il- latin ‘alal-Mu’-miniina ’a-‘izza- tin ‘alal-Kaafiriina, yujaa-hi- duuna fii Sabiilil-laahi wa laa yakhaa-fuuna law-mata laaa- 'im. Zaalika Fazlul-laahi yu’-tiihi many-yashaaa’. Wallaahu Waasi-’un ‘Aliim

O Messenger ! Make known that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord, for if thou do it not, thou will not have conveyed His message. Allah will protect thee from mankind. Lo ! Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk

Yaaa-’ayyu-har-Rasuulu ballig maaa 'unzila ’ilayka mir- Rabbik. Wa 'illam taf-‘al famaa ballagta Risaa-latah. Wallaahu ya‘-simuka minan-naas. ’Innal­laaha laa yahdil-qawmal- Kaafiriin

Say: O People of the Scripture! Ye have naught (of guidance) till ye observe the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto you from your Lord. That which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) from thy Lord is pertain to increase the contumacy and disbelief of many of them. But grieve not for the disbelieving folk

Qui yaaa-’Ahlal-Kitaabi las-tum ‘alaa shay-’in hattaa tuqiimut-Taw-raata wal-’lnjiila wa maaa ’unzila ’ilaykum-mir- Rabbikum. Wa la-yazii-danna kasiiram-minhum-maaa 'un-zila ’ilayka mir-Rabbika tug- yaananw-wa kuf-raa. Falaa ta’- sa ‘alal-Qawmil-Kaafiriin.

A folk before you asked (for such disclosures) and then disbelieved therein

Qad sa-’alahaa qawmum- min-qablikum summa ’asbahuu bihaa kaafiriin

Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and com­mand and prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein, then in­deed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein

’Ulaaa-’ikal laziina ’aataynaa-humul-Kitaaba wal- Huk-ma wan-Nubuwwah. Fa- ’iny-yakfur bihaa haaa-’ulaaa-’i faqad wakkalnaa bihaa qawmal- laysuu bihaa bi-Kaafiriin

Is he who was dead and We have raised him unto life, and set for him a light wherein he walketh among men, as him whose simili­tude is in utter darkness whence he cannot emerge? Thus is their conduct made fair seeming forthe disbelievers.

’Awa-mah-kaanamaytan- fa-’ahyay-naahu wa ja-‘alnaa lahuu Nuurany-yamshii bihii fin- naasi kamam-masaluhuu f izulu-maati laysa bi-khaari-jim- minhaa? Kazaa-lika zuy-yina lil- kaafiriina maa kaanuu ya‘- maluun

Who doeth greater wrong than he who denieth His tokens? (For such) their appointed portion of the Book (of destiny) reacheth them till, when Our messengers come to gather them, they say: Where (now) is that to which ye cried beside Allah? They say: They have departed from us. And they testify against themselves that they were disbelievers.

Faman ’azlamu mimma- niftaraa ‘alal-laahi kaziban ’aw kazzaba bi-’Aayaatih?'Ulaaa-’ika yanaaluhum nasiibuhum-minal- Kitaab: Hat-taaa 'izaa jaaa-’at- hum rusulunaa yata-waffaw- nahum qaaluuu 'ayna maa kuntum tad-'uuna min-duunil- laah? Qaaluu zalluu 'annaa wa shahiduu ‘alaaa ‘anfusihim 'annahum kaanuu kaafiriin

Who debar (men) from the Path of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Last Day.

’Alla?iina yasudduuna ‘an-Sabiilil-laahi wa yabguuna- haa ‘i-wajaa: wa hum-bil- 'Aakhi-rati kaafiruun

And the dwellers of the Fire cry out unto the dwellers of the Garden: Pouron us some wateror some of that wherewith Allah hath provided you. They say: Lo ! Allah hath forbidden both to the disbelievers:

Wa naadaaa 'Aç-haabun- Naari 'As-haabal-Jannati ’an ’afiizuu 'alay-naa minal-maaa-’i 'aw mimmaa razaqa-kumul- laah. Qaaluuu 'innal-laaha harrama-humaa ‘alal-kaafiriin

Those who were scornful said: Lo ! in that which ye believe we are disbelievers

Qaalal-laziinas-tak- baruuu 'innaa billaziii ’aaman- tum-bi-hii kaafiruun.

So hetumedfromthemandsaid: O my people ! I delivered my Lord’s messages unto you and gave you good advice; then how can I sorrow for a people that rejected (truth)?

Fata-wallaa ‘anhum wa qaala yaa-qawmi laqad ’ablag- tukum risaa-laati Rabbii wa na- sahtu lakum; fakay-fa ’aasaa ‘alaa qaw-min-kaafiriin

And when Allah promised you one of the two bands (of the enemy) that it should be yours, and ye longed that other than the armed one might be yours. And Allah willed that He should cause the Truth to triumph by His word, and cut the root of the disbelievers;

Wa'izya-idukumul-laahu‘ihdat-taaa-’ifatayni 'annahaa lakum wa ta-wad- duuna ‘anna gayra zaat- ish-shawkati takuunu lakum wa yurii-dullaahu ’any-yu-hiqqal-

Haqqa bi-Kalimaa-tihii wa yaqta-'ffil  daabiral-kaafiriin;—

Travel freely in the land four months, and know that ye cannot escape Allah and that Allah will confound the disbelievers (in His guidance

Fasiihuu fil-’arzi 'arba-'ata ’ash-hurinw-wa'-lamuuu 'anna- kum gayru mu‘-jizil-laahi wa 'annal-laaha mukh-zil-kaafiriin

Then Allah sent His peace of reassurance down upon His mess­enger and upon the believers, and sent down hosts ye could not see, and punished those who disbelieved. Such is the reward of disbelievers

umma’anza-lallaahusa- kiina-tahuu ‘alaa Rasuulihii wa ‘alal-Mu’-miniina wa 'an-zala, junuudal-lam-tarawhaa: wa ‘azza-ballaziina kafaruu. Wa, zaalika jazaaa-’ul-kaafiriin umma’anza-lallaahusa- kiina-tahuu ‘alaa Rasuulihii wa ‘alal-Mu’-miniina wa 'an-zala, junuudal-lam-tarawhaa: wa ‘azza-ballaziina kafaruu. Wa, zaalika jazaaa-’ul-kaafiriin

So let not their riches nor their children astonish thee (O Muhammad). Allah thereby intendeth but to punish them in the life of the world and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers

Falaa tu‘-jibka 'amwaalu- hum wa laaa ’awlaa-duhum. ’Innamaa huriidul-laahu liyu- ‘azzi-bahum-bihaa fil-hayaatid- dunyaawatazhaqa’anfusu-hum wa hum kaafiruun.

But as for those in whose hearts is disease, it only addeth wickedness to their wickedness and they die while they are disbelievers

Wa 'ammal-laziinafii quluu- bihim-marazun-fazaa-dat-hum rijsan 'ilaa rijsihim wa maatuu wa hum kaafiruun.

A similitude of the Garden which is promised unto those who keep their duty (to Allah): Underneath it rivers flow; its food is everlasting, and its shade; this is the reward of those who keep their duty, while the reward of disbelievers is the Fire

Masalul-Jannatil-latii wu- ‘idal-Mutta-quun! Tajrii min tah- tihal-’anhaar: ’uku-luhaa daaa- ’imunwwa zilluhaa: tilka ‘Uqbal- lazii-natta-qaw; wa ‘Uqbal- kaafirii-nan-Naar.

Then on the Day of Resurrec­tion He will disgrace them and will say: Where are My partners, for whose sake ye opposed (My Guid­ance)? Those who have been given knowledge will say: Disgrace this day and evil are upon the disbelievers

Summa Yawmal-Qiyaa- mati yukhziihim wa yaquulu ’ayna shurakaaa-’i-yallaziina kuntum tushaaaq-quuna fii- him? Qaalallaziina ’uutul-’ilma ’in-nal-khizyal-yawmawassuuu- ’a ‘alal-kaafiriin,-

They know the favour of Allah and then deny it. Most of them are ingrates

Ya'-rifuuna ni’matallaahi summa yunkiruunahaa wa ’ak- saruhumul-kaafiruun

That is because they have chosen the life of the world rather than the Hereafter, and because Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk

Zaalika bi-’anna-humus- tahabbul-hayaataddunyaa ‘alal- ’Aakhirati wa-’annallaaha laa yahdil-Qawmal-kaafiriin

It may be that your Lord will have mercy on you, but if ye repeat (the crime) We shall repeat (the punishment), and We have appointed hell a dungeon for the disbelievers

’AsaaRabbukum’aFiyyar- hamakum; wa ’in ‘uttum ‘ud- naa. Wa ja-‘alnaa Jahannama lil-kaafiriina hasiiraa

Have they not seen that Allah Who created the heavens and the earth is Able to create the like of them, and hath appointed for them an end whereof there is no doubt? Butthewrong-doers refuse aught save disbelief

'Awalam yaraw 'annallaa- hallazii khalaqas-samaawaati wal-’arzaQaadirun ‘alaaa 'any- yakhluqa mislahum wa ja-‘ala lahum 'ajalal-laa rayba fiih. Fa- ’abaz-?aalimuuna 'illaa kufuuraa

Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion?

Alam tara ’annaaa ‘arsal- nash-shayaatiina ‘alal-kaafiriina ta-’uzzuhum ’azzaa

And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent

Wa 'izaa ra-‘aakallaziina kafaruuu 'inyyatta-khizuunaka 'illaa huzuwaa. 'Ahaazallazii yazkuru 'aalihatakum? Wa hum- bi-zikrir-Rahmaani hum kaafiruun

(And) the dwellers in Midian. And Moses was denied; but I indulged the disbelievers a long while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My abhorrence

Wa’As-haabuMadyan;wa kuzziba Muusaa fa-’amlay-tu lil- kaafiriina summa ’akhaz-tuhum: fa-kayfa kaana nakiir

He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not

Wa manyyad'u ma-‘allaahi 'ilaahan ’ankhara laa burhaana lahuu bihii fa-’innamaa hisaa- buhuu ‘inda Rabbih! 'Innahuu laa yuflibul-Kaafiruun

The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) be­longing to the Beneficent Qne, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers.

’Al-mulku Yawma-’izi-nil- haqqu lir-Rahmaan: wa kaa-na Yawman ‘alal-kaafiriina ‘asiiraa.

So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith with a great endeavour

Falaa tuti-‘il-kaafiriina wa jaahidhum-bihii jihaadan-ka- biiraa

Yet they worship instead of 'Allah that which can neither benefit them nor hurt them. The disbeliever was ever a partisan against his Lord

Wa ya’-buduuna min-duu- nillaahi maa laa yanfa-’uhum wa laa yazurruhum: wa kaanal- kaafiru ‘alaa Rabbihii zahiiraa

And (all) that she was wont to worship instead of Allah hindered her, for she came of disbelieving folk

Wasaddahaamaakaanat- ta’-budu min-duunillaah: ’innahaa kaanat mih-qawmih kaafiriin

Butwhentherecameuntothem the Truth from Ourpresence, they said: Why is he not given the like of what was given unto Moses? Did they not disbe­lieve in that which was given unto Moses of old? They say: Two magics that support each other; and they say: Lo ! in both we are disbelievers

Falammaa jaaa-’ahumul- Haqqu min ‘indinaa qaaluu law laaa ’uutiya misla maaa 'uutiya Muusaa? ’Awalam yakfuruu bimaaa ’uutiya Muusaa min- qabl? Qaaluu sibraani tazaaharaa ! Wa qaaluuu ’innaa bikullin-kaafiruun!

And morning found those who had coveted his place but yesterday crying: Ah, welladay! Allah enlargeth the provision for whom He will of His slaves and straiteneth it (for whom He will). If Allah had not been gracious unto us He would have caused it to swallow us (also). Ah, well-aday! the disbelievers never prosper

Wa ’asbahallaziina taman- naw makaanahuu bil-’amsi yaq- uuluuna wayka-’annallaaha yab- sutur-rizqa limariy-ya-shaaa-’u min ‘ibaadihii wa yaqdir ! Law laaa ’am-mannal-laahu ‘alaynaa la- khasafa binaa! Wayka-’annahuu laa yuflihul-kaafiruun!

Thouhadstnohopethatthe Scripture would be inspired in thee; but it is a mercy from thy Lord, so never be a helper to the disbelievers

Wamaakuntatarjuuu’any- yulqaaa ’ilaykal-Kitaabu ’illaa Rahmatam-mir-Rabbika falaa takuunanna zahiiral-lil-kaafiriin

In like manner We have revealed unto thee the Scripture, and those unto whom We gave the Scripture aforetime will believe therein; and of these (also) there are some who believe therein. And none deny Our revelations save the disbelievers

Wa kazaalika ’anzalnaaa ’ilaykal-Kitaab. Fallaziina 'aataynaahumul-Kitaaba yu’minuuna bihii wa min haaa- 'ulaaa-’i many-yu’-minu bih: wa maa yajhadu bi-’Aayaati naaa 'illal-kaafiruun

They bid thee hasten on the doom, when lo! hell verily will encompass the disbelievers

Yasta'-jiluunaka bil- ‘Azaab: wa ’inna Jahannama la- muhii-tatum-bil-kaafiriin

Who doth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah, or denieth the truth when it cometh unto him? Is not there a home in hell for disbelievers

Wa man ’azlamu mimma- niftaraa 'alallaahi kaziban ’aw kazzaba bil-Haqqi lammaa jaaa- ’ah? ’Alaysa fii Jahannama maswal-lil-kaafiriin

they not pondered upon themselves? Allah created not the heavens and the earth, and that which is between them, save with truth and for a destined end. But truly, many of mankind are disbe­lievers in the meeting with their Lord.

’Awalam yatafakkaruu fiii ’ahfusihim?Maa khalaqallaahus- samaawaati wal-’arza wa maa baynahumaaa ’illaa bil-haqqi wa ’ajalim-musammaa: wa 'inna kaçiiram-minannaasi biliqaaa-'i Rabbihim lakaafiruun

There will be none to inter­cede for them of those whom they made equal with Allah. And they will reject their partners (whom they ascribed unto Him).

Wa lam yakul-lahum-min Shurakaaa-’ihim shufa-‘aaa-’u wa kaanuu bi-Shurakaaa-’ihim kaafiriin

That He may reward out of his bounty those who believe and do good works. Lo! He loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance).

Liyaj-ziyallaziina ’aamanuu wa ‘amilus- saalihaati min-Fazlih. ’Innahuu laa yuhibbul-kaafiriin

And they say: When we are lost in the earth, how can we then be re-created? Nay but they are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord.

Wa qaaluuu 'a-’izaa z;alal- naafil-’ar?i ’a-’innaa lafii khalqin- jadiid? Bal hum-bi-Liqaaa- Rabbihim kaafiruun

0 Prophet! Keep thy duty to Allah and obey not the disbelievers and the hypocrites. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise

Yaaa-’ayyuhan-Nabiyyut- taqil-laaha wa laa tuti-'il-kaafiri- inawal-Munaafiqiin: 'innallaaha kaana ‘Aliiman Hakiimaa

That He may ask the loyal of their loyalty. And He hath prepared a painful doom for the unfaithful.

Liyas-’alas-Saadiqiina ‘an Sidqihim: wa ’a-‘adda lil- kaafiriina 'Azaaban 'aliimaa.

And incline not to the disbeliev­ers and the hypocrites. Disregard their noxious talk, and put thy trust in Allah. Allah is sufficient as Trustee

Walaatuti-‘il-kaafiriinawal- Munaafiqiina wa da‘-’azaahum wa tawakkal ‘alallaah. Wa kafaa billaahi Wakiilaa.

And We sent not unto any township a warner, but its pampered ones declared: Lo ! We are disbelievers in that with which ye have been sent

Wa maaa ’arsalnaa fii qaryatim-min-Naziirin 'illaa qaala mutrafuuhaaa ’innaa bimaaa 'ursiitum bihii kaafiruun.

He it is Who hath made you gents in the earth; so he who his disbelief be on his own head. Their disbelief increa- seth for the disbelievers, in their Lord’s sight, naught save abhor­rence. Their disbelief increaseth for the disbelievers naught save loss.

Huwallazii ja-‘alakum khalaaa-’ifa  fil faman kafara fa-‘alayhi kufruh: wa laa yaziidul-kaafiriina kufruhum ‘inda Rabbihim ’illaa maqtaa: wa laa yaziidul- kaafiriina kufruhum 'illaa khasaaraa

To warn whosoever liveth, the word may prove true against the disbelievers

Liyunzira man kaana hayyanwwa yahiqqal-qawlu ‘alal-kaafiriin.

And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan.

Wa ‘ajibuuu 'an jaaa- ’ahum- Munzirum-minhum ! Wa qaalal-Kaafirunna haazaa saahirun-kazzaab

Saving Iblis; he was scornful nd became one of the isbelievers.

’Illaaa ’Ibliis; 'istakbara wa kaana minal-kaafiriin.

And who doth greater wrong than he who telleth a lie against Allah, and denieth the truth when it reacheth him? Will not the home of disbelievers be in hell?

mimman -kazaba ‘alallaahi wa kazzaba bis-Sidqi ’iz jaaa-’ah? ’Alaysa fii Jahannama maswal- lil-kaafiriin?

(But now the answer will be): Nay, for My revelations came unto thee, but thou didst deny them and wast scornful and wast among the disbelievers

Balaa qad jaaa -’atka 'Aayaatii fakazzabta bihaa wastakbarta wa kunta minal- kaafiriin

And those who disbelieve are driven unto hell in troops till, when they reach it and the gates thereof are opened, and the warders thereof say unto them: Came there not unto you messengers of your own, reciting unto you the revelations of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this your Day? They say: Yea, verily. But the word of doom for disbelievers is fulfilled.

Wa siiqallaziina kafaruuu ’ilaa Jahannama zumaraa: Hattaaa’izaa jaaa-’uuhaafutihat 'abwaabuhaa wa qaala lahum khazanatuhaaa ’alam ya’-ti-kum rusulum-mihkum yatluuna ‘alaykum ’Aayaati Rabbikum wa yunziruunakum Liqaaa-’a Yawmikum haazaa? Qaaluu balaa wa laakin haqqat Kalimatul-'Azaabi'alal-kaafiriin!

Therefore (O believers) pray unto Allah, making religion pure for Him (only), however much the disbelievers be averse

Fad-‘ullaaha mukhlisiina lahud-diina wa law karihal- kaafiruun

And when he brought them the T ruth from Our presence, they said: Slay the sons of those who believe with him, and spare their women. But the plot of disbelievers is in naught but error

Falammaajaaa-’ahum-bil- Haqqi min ‘iridinaa qaaluq-tuluuu 'abnaaa-’allaziina’aamanuu ma- ‘ahuu wastahyuu nisaaa-’ahum. Wa maa kaydul-kaafiriina ’illaa fii zalaal !...

They say: Came not your messengers unto you with clear proofs? They say: Yea verily. They say: Then do ye pray, although the prayer of disbelievers is in vain

Qaaluuu ’awalam taku ta’- tiikum rusulukum-bil-Bayyinaat? Qaaluu balaa. Qaaluu fad-‘uu! Wa maa du-‘aaa-’ul-kaafiriina 'illaa fii zalaal

Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance).

Min duunillaah? Qaaluu zalluu ‘annaa bal-lam nakun- nad-‘uu mih-qablu shay-’aa. Kazaalika yuzillul-laahul- kaafiriin

Who give not the poordue, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter

’Allaziina laa yu’-tuunaz- Zakaata wa hum-bil-’Aakhirati hum kaafiruun

When their messengers came unto them from before them and behind them, saying: Worship none but Allah, they said: If our Lord had willed, He surely would have sent down angels (unto us), so lo! we are disbelievers in that wherewith ye have been sent

’Iz jaaa-‘at-humur-rusulu mimbayni ’aydiihim wa min khalfihim ’allaa ta‘-buduuu ’illal- laah. Qaaluu law shaaa-’a Rabbunaa la-’anzala malaza-’i- katan-fa-’innaa bimaaa ’ursiltum-bihii kaafiruun

And accepteth those who believe and do good works and gives increase unto them of His bounty. And as for disbelievers, theirs will be an awful doom

 Wa yastajiibullaziina ’aa­manuu wa ‘amilus-saalihaati wa yaziiduhum-mih-fa?lih: wal- kaafiruuna lahum ‘Azaabun- shadiid

And the warner) said: What! Even though I bring you better guidance than that ye found your fathers following? They answered: Lo! in what ye bring we are dis­believers

Qaala ’awa law ji’-tukum- bi-’ahdaa mimmaa wajattum ‘alayhi ’aabaaa-’akum? Qaaluuu ’innaa bimaaa 'ursiltum-bihii- kaafiruun

And now that the Truth hath come unto them they say: This is mere magic, and lo! we are disbelievers therein

Wa lammaa jaaa-’ahumul- Haqqu qaaluu haazaa sihrunw wa ’innaa bihii kaafiruun

And when mankind are gath­ered (to the Judgement) they will become enemies for them, and will become deniers of having been worshipped by them.

Wa ’izaa hushiran-naasu kaanuu lahum ’a‘-daaa-’anwwa kaanuu bi-‘ibaadatihim kaafiriin

Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the con­sequence for those who were be­fore them? Allah wiped them out. And for the disbelievers there will be the like thereof

’Afalam yasiiruu fil-’arzi fa-- yanzuruu kayfa kaana ‘Aaqibatullaziina min-qablihim? Dammarallaahu ‘alayhim, wa lil- kaafiriina 'amsaaluhaa

That is because Allah is patron of those who believe, and because the disbelievers have no patron

Zaalika bi-’annallaaha Mawlal-laziina ’aamanuu wa ’annal-kaafiriina laa mawlaa lahum

Nay, but they marvel that a varner of their own hath come jnto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing

Bal ‘ajibuuu ’an-jaaa- ’ahum-Munzirum-minhum faqaalal-kaafiruuna haazaa shay-’un ‘ajiib

Hastening toward the Summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day

Muh-ti-‘iina ’ilad-Daa’I Yaquu-lul-kaafiruuna “Haazaa Yawmun ‘asir

And he who findeth not (the wherewithal), let him fast for two successive months before they touch one another; and for him who is unable to do so (the penance is) the feeding of sixty needy ones. This, that ye may put trust in Allah and His messenger. Such are the limits (imposed by Allah); and for disbelievers is a painful doom

Famallamyajidfa-siyaamu shah-rayni mutataabi-'ayni min qabli ’ahy-yatamaaas-saa. Famallam-yastati' fa-’it-'aamu sittiina miskiinaa. Zaalika litu’- minuu billaahi wa Rasuulih. Wa tilka Huduudullaah Wa lil-kaafiriina ‘Azaabun ’aliim.

ose who oppose Allah and His messenger will be abased even as those before them were abased; and We have sent down clear tokens and for disbelievers is a shameful doom

’Innalla?iinayubaaad-duu- nallaaha wa Rasuulahuu kubituu kamaa kubitalla?iina min qablihim wa qad ‘anzalnaaa ’Aayaatim-Bayyinaat. Wa lil- kaafiriina ‘Azaabum-muhiin

Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, however much the disbelievers are averse

Yuriiduuna li-yutfi-’uu Nuurallaahi bi-’afwaahihim wallaahu mutimmu Nuurihii wa law karihal-kaafiruun

He it is Who created you, but one of you is a disbeliever and one of you is a believer, and Allah is Seer of what ye do

Huwallazii khalaqakumfa- minkum kaafirunw-wa minkum Mu’-min. Wallaahu bimaa ta‘- maluuna Basiir

ay (O Muhammad): Have ye thought: if Allah causeth me (Muhammad) and those with me to perish or hath mercy on us, still, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful doom

Qui ’ara-’aytum ’in 'ah- lakani-yallaahu wa mamma-‘iya ’aw rahimanaa famany-yujiirul- kaafiriina min ‘Azaabin ’aliim

And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers

Wa ’innahuu la-hasratun ‘alal-kaafiriin

Upon the disbelievers, which none can repel

Lil-kaafiriina laysa lahuu daafi’

And Noah said: My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers in the land

Wa qaala Nuuhur-Rabbi laa tazar ‘alal-'arzi minal- kaafiriina dayyaaraa

Not of ease, for disbelievers.

‘Alal-kaafiriina gayru yasiir.

We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the fire, and their number have We made to be a stumblingblock for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals.

Wa maa ja-‘alnaaa 'Ashaabannaari ’illaa malaaa- 'ikah. Wa maa ja-‘alnaa ‘iddata- hum ’illaa fitnatal-lillaziina afaruu li-yastay-qinallaziina ’uutul-Kitaaba wa yazdaadal- laziina ’aamanuuu 'iimaananw- wa laa yartaaballaziina 'uutul- Kitaaba wal-Mu’-minuuna wa li- yaquuiallaziina fii quluubi-him marazunw-wal-kaafiruuna maa- zaaa 'araadallaahu bihaazaa ma§alaa? Kazaalika yugill’ull- aahu many-yashaaa-’u wa yahdii many-yashaaa’. Wa maa ya‘-lamu junuuda Rabbika ’illaa Huu. Wa maa hiya 'illaa zikraa lil-bashar

Lo! We have prepared for isbelievers manacles and  and a raging fire

'Innaaa ’a‘-tadnaa lil- kaafiriina salaasila wa carcans 'aglaalanw-wa Sa-‘iiraa.

Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliev­ers will cry: “Would that I were dust!”

’Innaaa ’anzarnaakum ‘Azaaban-qariibaa,-Yawma yanzurul-mar-’u maa qaddamat yadaahu wa yaquulul-kaafiru yaa-laytanii kuntu turaabaa!

So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while

Fa-mahhilil-kaafiriina ’amhilhum ru-waydaa

Say: O disbelievers

Qui yaaa-’ayyuhal- KAAFIRUUN!

The disbelievers

KAAFIRUUN-109 Verses 6

Those who were despised say unto those who were proud: Nay but (it was your) scheming night and day, when ye commanded us to disbelieve in Allah and set up rivals unto Him. And they are filled with remorse when they behold the doom; and We place carcans on the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught save what they did?

Wa qaalal-laziinas-tuz- ‘ifuu lillaziinas-takbaruu bal- makrul-layli-wan-nahaaari ’izta’- muruunanaaa 'an-nakfura billaahi wa naj-'ala lahuuu 'andaadaa! Wa 'asarrun-nadaa- mata lammaa ra-’awul-‘Azaab. Wa ja-‘alnal-’aglaala fiii ’a‘- naaqii-laziina kafaruu: hal yujzawna ’illaa maa kaanuu ya’- maluun

And who doth greater wrong than he who telleth a lie against Allah, and denieth the truth when it reacheth him? Will not the home of disbelievers be in hell?

FAMAN ’AZLAMU

mimman -kazaba ‘alallaahi wa kazzaba bis-Sidqi ’iz jaaa-’ahz ’Alaysa fii Jahannama maswal- lil-kaafiriin?

If ye pray unto them they hear not your prayer, and if they heard they could not grant it you. On the Day of Resurrection they will disown association with you. None can inform you like Him Who is Aware

’In tad-’uuhum laayasma- ‘uu du-’aaa-'akum. Wa law sami- ’uu mastajaabuu lakum. Wa Yawmal-Qiyaamati yakfuruuna bi-shirkikum. Wa laa yunabbi- 'uka mi§lu khabiir.

Burn therein this Day for that ye disbelieved

’Islaw-hal-Yawma bimaa kuntum takfuruun

If ye are thankless, yet Allah is Independent of you, though He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen; and if ye are thankful He is pleased therewith for you. No laden soul will bear another’s load. Then unto your Lord is your return, and He will tell you what ye used to do. Lo! He knoweth what is in the breasts (of men).

'In-takfuruu fa-’innallaaha Ganiyyun ‘ankum: wa laa yarzaa li-‘ibaadihil-kufr: wa ’in-tashkuruu yarzahu lakum. Wa laa taziru waaziratunwwizra ’ukhraa. Summa 'ilaa Rabbikum-Marji- ‘ukum fayunabbi-’ukum-bimaa kuntum ta‘-maluun. ’Innahuu ‘Aliimum-bi-zaatis-suduur.

Lo! (on that day) those who lisbelieve are informed by proc lamation: Verily Allah’s abhorrence is more terrible than your abhor­rence one of another, when ye were called unto the faith but did refuse

’Innallaziina kafaruu yunaadawna lamaqtullaahi ’akbaru  mim-maqtikum

’anfusakum ’iz tud-’awna 'ilal- 'iimaani fatakfuruun

Say (O Muhammad, unto the idolaters): Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days, and ascribe ye unto Him rivals? He (and none else) is the Lord of the Worlds.

Qui ’a-’innakum latakfuruuna billazii khalaqal- 'arzafii Yawmayni wa taj-’aluuna la-huuu ’ahdaadaa? Zaalika Rabbul-’Aalamiin

And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We might well have appointed for those who disbelieve in the Benefi­cent, roofs of silver for their houses and stairs (of silver) whereby to mount

Wa law laaa ’any- yakuunan-naasu 'ummatanw- waahidatal-!aja-‘alnaa limahy- yakfuru bir-Rahmaani li-buyuuti- him suqufam-min-fiz-zatinw-wa ma-‘aarija ‘alayhaa yazharuun

And on the Day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (they will be asked): Is not this real? They will say: Yea, by our Lord. He will say: Then taste the doom for that ye disbelieved

Wa Yawma yu‘-razul- laziina kafaruu ‘alan-Naar: ’a-laysa haazaa bil-Haqq? Qaaluu balaa’wa Rabbinaa! Qaala fazuuqul-’azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuruun!

If they have the upperhand of you, they will be your foes, and will stretch out their hands and their tongues toward you with evil (intent), and they long for you to disbelieve

’Inyyag-qafuukumyakuun- uu lakum ’a‘-daaa-’anw-wa yab- sutuuu ’ilay-kum ’ay-diyahum wa ’al-sinatahum-bissuuu-’i wa wadduu law takfuruun

And they follow that which the devils falsely related against the kingdom of Solomon. Solomon disbelieved not; but the devils disbelieved, teaching mankind magic and that which was revealed to the two angels in Babel, Harut and Marut. Nor did they (the two angels) teach it to anyone till they had said: We are only a temptation, therefore disbelieve not (in the guidance of Allah). And from these two (angels) people learn that by which they cause division between man and wife; but they injure thereby no-one save by Allah’s leave. And they learn that which harmeth them and profiteth them not. And surely they do know that he who trafficketh therein will have no (happy) portion in the Hereafter; and surely evil is the price for which they sell their souls, if they but knew.

Wattaba-’uu maa tatlushshayaa-tiinu ‘alaa mulki- Sulaymaan. Wa maa kafara Sulaymaanu wa laakinnash- shayaa-tiina kafaruu yu- ‘allimuunan-naa-sas-sihr, wa maaa ’unzila ’alal- malakayni bi-Baabila Haaruuta wa Maaruut. Wa maa yu- ‘allimaani min ’ahadin hattaa ya- quulaaa ’innamaa nahnu fitna tun-falaa takfur. Fayata-’alla- muuna minhumaa maa yufar- riquuna bihii baynal-mar-’i wa zawjih. Wa maa hum-bi-zaaar- riina bihii min 'ahadin ’illaa bi- ’iznil-laah. Wa yata-’allamuuna maa yazurruhum wa laa yanfa- ‘uhum. Wa laqad ‘alimuu lama- nishtaraahu maa lahuu fil- ’Aakhirati min khalaaq. Wa labi’- sa-maa sharaw bihiii ’anfusa- hum, law kaanuu ya‘-lamuun.

And when Abraham prayed: My Lord! Make this a region of security and bestow upon its

people fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day, He answered: As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire—a hapless journey’s end

Wa ’iz qaala "Ibraahiimu Rabbij - ‘al haazaa Baladan ’Aaminanw-warzuq 'ahlahuu mina§-§amaraati man 'aamana minhum-billaahi wal-Yawmil- ’Aakhir. Qaala wa man-kafara fa-’umatti-‘uhuu qaliilah-summa 'aztarruhuuu 'ilaa ‘azaabin - Naar,-wa bi’-sal-masiir

Wherein are plain memorials (of Allah’s guidance); the place where Abraham stood up to pray; and whosoever entereth it is safe. And pilgrimage to the House is a duty unto Allah for mankind, for him who can find a way thither. As for him who disbelieveth, (let him know that) lo! Allah is Indepen­dent of (all) creatures.

Fiihi 'Aayaatum-Bayyinaa- tum-Maqaamu ’Ibraahiim; wa man-dakhalahuu kaana 'aami- naa. Wa lillaahi ‘alannaasi Hij- jul-Bayti manistataa-‘a ’ilay-hi sabiilaa. Wa man-kafara fa-’in- nallaaha Ganiy-yun ‘anil- ‘aalamiin.

Allah made a covenant of old with the Children of Israel and We raised among them twelve chieftains, and Allah said: Lo ! I am with you. If ye establish worship and pay the poor-due, and believe in My messengers and support them, and lend unto Allah a kindly loan, surely I shall remit your sins, and surely I shall bring you into gardens underneath which rivers flow. Whoso among you disbelieveth after this will go astray from a plain road.

Wa laqad ’akha-zal-laahu Miisaaqa Baniii-’lsraaa-'iila wa ba-‘asnaa min-humu§-nay- ‘ashara Naqiibaa. Wa qaa- lallaahu ’innii ma-‘akum: la-’in ’aqam-tumus-Salaata wa 'aatay-tumuz-Zakaata wa ’aa- mahtum-bi-rusulii wa ‘azzar- tumuuhum wa 'aqraz-tumul- laaha Qar-zan Hasanal-la- 'ukaffiranna ‘ankum sayyi- ’aatikum wa la-’udkhi-lanna-kum Jannaatin-tajrii mjp-tah-tihal- 'anhaar; famah-kafara ba‘-da zaalika minkum faqad zalla sawaaa-’assabiil

They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say: Who then can do aught against Allah, if He had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? Allah’s is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He createth what He will. And Allah is Able to do all things

Laqad kafaral-laziina qaa- luuu 'innal-laaha Huwal-Masii- hubnu-Maryam. Qui famany- yamliku minallaahi shay-’an 'in 'araada ’any-yuhlikal-Masii- habna-Maryamawa’umma-huu wa man-fil-’arzi jamii-'aaz Wa lillaahi mulkussa-maawaati wal- 'arzi wa maa baynahumaa. Yakhluqu maa yashaaa’. Wal­laahu ‘alaa kulli shay-’in-Qadiir.

They surely disbelieve who say. Lo ! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo ! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden Paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evil-doers there will be no helpers.

Laqad kafaral-laziina qaaluuu ’innal-laaha Huwal-Ma- sii-hubnu-Maryam. Wa qaalal- Masiihuyaa-Baniii-’lsraaa-’iila‘- budullaaha Rabbii wa Rabbakum. ‘Innahuu rnahy- yushrik billaahi faqad harra- mallaahu ‘alayhil-Jannata wa ma’-waahun-Naar. Wa maa lizzaa-limiina min ‘ansaar

Whoso disbelieveth in Allah after his belief-save him who is forced thereto and whose heart is still content with Faith— but whoso findeth ease in disbelief: on them is wrath from Allah. Theirs will be an awful doom

Mah-kafara billaahi mim- ba‘-di ’limaanihiii ’illaa man ’ukriha wa qalbuhuu mutma- 'innum-bil-’limaani wa laa-kim- man-sharaha bil- kufri sadraii- fa-‘alayhim gazabum-minallaahi wa lahum ‘Azaa bun ’aziim

Allah coineth a similitude: a township that dwelt secure and well content, its provision coming to it in abundance from every side, but it disbelieved in Allah’s favours,  so Allah made it experience the garb of dearth and fear because of what they used to do

Wa zaraballaahu Masa-lah- qaryatan-kaanat ’aamina-tam- mutma-’innatany-ya’-tii-haa rizqu- haa ragadam-mih-kulli makaanin- fakafarat bi-’an-‘umillaahi fa-’azaaqa-hallaahu libaasal- juu-'i wal-khawfi bimaa kaa-nuu yasna-'uun.

Hast thou seen him who disbelieveth in Ou r revelations and saith: Assuredly I shall be given wealth and children?

’Afara-’aytallazii kafara bi-’Aayaatinaa wa qaala la- ’uutayanna maalanwwa wala- daa

Allah hath promised such of you as believe and do good works that He will surely make them to succeed (the present rulers) in the earth even as He caused those who were before them to succeed (others), and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He hath approved for them, and will give them in exchange safety after their fear. They serve Me. They ascribe nothing as partner unto Me. Those who disbelieve henceforth, they are the miscreants.

Wa-‘adallaa-hullaziina’aa­manuu minkum wa ‘amilus- saalihaati layastakh-lifannahum fil-’arzi kamastakh-lafal-laziina min qablihim: wa la- yumakkinanna lahum diina- humullazir-tazaa lahum wa layubaddi-lannahum mim-ba‘-di khawfihim 'amnaa: ya‘-bu- duunanii laa yushrikuuna bii shay-’aa. Wa man kafara ba‘-da zaalika fa-’ulaaa-’ika hu-mul- faasiquun.

One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze retumeth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul: and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul’s hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful.

Qaalallazii ‘iridahuu ‘il- mum-minal-Kitaabi 'ana ’aatii­ka bihii qabla ’any-yartadda ’ilayka tarfuk ! Falammaa ra’aahu mustaqirran ’indahuu qaala haazaa miri-fazli Rabbii liyabluwaniii 'a-’ashkuru 'am ’akfur ! Wa mari-sljakara fa- ’innamaayash-kuru li-nafsih; wa man-kafara fa-’inna Rabbii Ganiyyuri-Kariim !...

Whoso disbelieveth must (then) bear the consequences of his disbelief, while those who do right make provision for themselves

Man-kafara fa-‘alayhi kuf ruh; wa man ‘amila saalihan- fali-anfusihim yamhaduun

And verily We gave Luqman wisdom, saying: Give thanks unto Allah; and whosoever giveth thanks, he giveth thanks for (the good of) his soul. And whosoever refuseth-Lo! Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise

Wa laqad 'aataynaa Luqrrfaanal-Hikmata ’anish-kur lillaah. Wa many-yashkur fa- ’innamaa yashkuru linafsih: wa mah-kafara fa-’innallaaha Ganiyyun lzamiid.

And whosoever disbelieveth, let not his disbelief afflict thee (O Muhammad). UntoUsistheirretum and We shall tell them what they did. Lo! Allah is Aware of what is in the breasts (of men).

Wa man-kafara falaa yah- zunka kufruh: ’ilaynaa Marji- ‘uhum fanunabbi-’uhum-bimaa ‘amiluu: ’innallaaha ‘Aliimum- bizaatis-suduur.

He it is Who hath made you gents in the earth; so he who disbelieveth; his disbelief be on his own head. Their disbelief increa- seth for the disbelievers, in their Lord’s sight, naught save abhor­rence. Their disbelief increaseth for the disbelievers naught save loss

Huwallazii ja-‘alakum khalaaa-’ifa  fil faman kafara fa-‘alayhi kufruh: wa laa yaziidul-kaafiriina kufruhum ‘inda Rabbihim ’illaa maqtaa: wa laa yaziidul- kaafiriina kufruhum 'illaa khasaaraa.

(And the hypocrites are) on the likeness of the devil when he telleth man to disbelieve, then, when he disbelieveth saith: Lo! I am quit of thee. Lo! I fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

Kamasalish-Shay-taani’iz qaala lil-’insaanik-fur: falam-maa kafara qaala ’innii bariii-’um- mifika ’inniii ’akhaaful-laaha Rabbal-‘Aalamiin!

O ye who believe! Be Allah’s helpers, even as Jesus son of Mary said unto the disciples: Who are my helpers for Allah? They said: We are Allah’s helpers. And a party of the Children of Israel believed, while a party disbelieved. Then We strengthened those who believed against their foe, and they became the uppermost

Yaaa-’ayyuhal-laziina 'aa-manuu kuunuuu ’ansaar- allaahi kamaa qaala ‘lisabnu- Maryama lil-Hawaariyyiina man ’ansaariii ’ilallaahz Qaa- lal-Hawaariyyuuna nahnu ’ah- saa-rullaahi fa-’aamanat-taaa- ’ifatum-mim-Baniii-’Israaa-’iila wa kafarat-taaa-’ifah. Fa-’ayy- adnal-laziina 'aamanuu ‘alaa ‘aduwwihim fa-’asbahuu zaa- v hiriin.

Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.

’Ulaaa-’ika humul-kafara- tul-Fajarah.

On the day when (some) faces will be whitened and (some) faces will be blackened; and as for those whose faces have been blackened, it will be said unto them: Disbelieved ye after your (profes­sion of) belief? Then taste the pun­ishment for that ye disbelieved.

Yawma tab-yazzu wujuu- hunw-wa taswaddu wujuuh: fa- ’ammallazii-naswaddat wu-juu- huhum: 'akafartum-ba’da ’ii- maanikum fazuuqul-‘azaaba bi- maa kuntum takfuruun

Or feel ye secure that He will not return you to that (plight) a second time, and send against you a hurricane of wind and drown you for your thanklessness, and then ye will not find therein that ye have any avenger against Us?

'Am 'amiritum ’ariyyu-‘ii- dakum fiihi taaratan 'ukhraa fa- yursila ‘alaykum qaasifam- minar-riihi fa-yugriqakum-bi- maa kafartum summa laa tajiduu lakum ’alaynaa bihii ta- bii-'aaz

(It is said unto them): This is (your plight) because, when Allah only was invoked, ye disbelieved, but when some partner was ascribed to Him ye were believing. But the command belongeth only to Allah, the Sublime, the Majestic

Zaalikum-bi-’annahuuu ’izaa du-‘iya!laahu wahdahuu kafartum, wa ’iny-yushrak bihii tu’-minuu ! Fal-Hukmu lil-laahil- ‘Aliyyil-Kabiir

If it is from Allah, the you disbelieve…

Qui 'ara-’aytum ’in-kaana min ‘indillaahi summa kafartum- bihii man ’azallu mimman huwa fii shiqaaqim-ba-‘iid

Bethink ye: If it is from Allah and ye disbelieve therein and a wit­ness of the Children of Israels hath already testified to the like thereof and hath believed, and ye are too proud (what plight is yours)? Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk

Qui ’ara-’aytum ’in-kaana min ‘indillaahi wa kafartum-bihii wa shahida shaahidum-mim- Baniii-lsraaa-’iila ‘alaa mislihii fa- ’aamana wastakbar-tumz ’Innallaaha laa yahdil-qawmag* çaalimiin

Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey- The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled

Fakay-fa tattaquuna ’in- kafartum Yawmany-yaj-’alul- wildaana shiibaa-

As for the disbelievers, whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not.

’Innal-laziina kafaruu sawaaa-’un ‘alay-him ’a- ’anzartahum'amlamtunzirhum laa yu’-minuun.

Lo ! Allah disdaineth not to coin the similitude of a gnat or even anything above that. Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; but those who disbelieve say, What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude? He misleadeth many thereby; and He guideth many thereby; and He misleadeth thereby only the miscreants;

’Innallaaha laa yastah-yiii ’any-yazriba masalam-maa ba- ‘uuzatan-famaa fawqahaa. Fa- 'ammallaziina ’aamanuu fa-ya‘- lamuuna ’annahul-Haqqu mir- Rabbihim: wa 'ammallaziina kafaruu fayaquuiuuna maa zaaa 'araadallaahubihaazaa masalaaz Yuz.illu bihii kasiiranw- wa yahdii bihii kasiiraa: wa maa yu-zillu bihiii ’illal-Faasi-qiin;

But they who disbelieve, and deny Our revelations, such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein.

Wallaziina kafaruu wa ka- zabuu bi-’Aayaatinaaa 'ulaaa- ’ika ’As-haabun-Naar; hum fii- haa khaaiiduun

And when there cometh unto  them a Scripture from Allah confirming that in their posse- ssion-though before that they were asking for a signal triumph over those who disbelieved-and when there cometh unto them that which they know (to be the Truth) they disbelieve therein.The curse of Allah is on disbelievers.

Kitaabum-min ‘indillaahi musaddiqul-limaa ma-’ahum wa kaanuu min-qablu yastafti- huuna ‘alal-laziina kafaruu,- falammaa jaaa-’ahum-maa- ‘arafuu kafaruu bihii fala‘- natullaahi ‘alal-Kaafiriin

And they follow that which the devils falsely related against the kingdom of Solomon. Solomon disbelieved not; but the devils disbelieved, teaching mankind magic and that which was revealed to the two angels in Babel, Harut and Marut. Nor did they (the two angels) teach it to anyone till they had said: We are only a temptation, therefore disbelieve not (in the guidance of Allah). And from these two (angels) people learn that by which they cause division between man and wife; but they injure thereby no-one save by Allah’s leave. And they learn that which harmeth them and profiteth them not. And surely they do know that he who trafficketh therein will have no (happy) portion in the Hereafter; and surely evil is the price for which they sell their souls, if they but knew

Wattaba-’uu maa tatlushshayaa-tiinu ‘alaa mulki- Sulaymaan. Wa maa kafara Sulaymaanu wa laakinnash- shayaa-tiina kafaruu yu- ‘allimuunan-naa-sas-sihr, wa maaa ’unzila ’alal-malakayni bi-Baabila Haaruuta wa Maaruut. Wa maa yu- ‘allimaani min ’ahadin hattaa ya- quulaaa ’innamaa nahnu fitna tun-falaa takfur. Fayata-’alla- muuna minhumaa maa yufar- riquuna bihii baynal-mar-’i wa zawjih. Wa maa hum-bi-zaaar- riina bihii min 'ahadin ’illaa bi- ’iznil-laah. Wa yata-’allamuuna maa yazurruhum wa laa yanfa- ‘uhum. Wa laqad ‘alimuu lama- nishtaraahu maa lahuu fil- ’Aakhirati min khalaaq. Wa labi’- sa-maa sharaw bihiii ’anfusa- hum, law kaanuu ya‘-lamuun

Neither those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture nor the idolaters love that there should be sent down unto you any good thing from your Lord. But Allah chooseth for His mercy whom He will, and Allah is of infinite bounty

Maa yawaddullaziina kafaruu min ’Ahlil-Kitaabi wa lal- Mushrikiina ’any-yunazzala ‘alaykum-min khayrim-mir- Rabbikum. Wallaahu yakhtassu bi-rahmatihii many-ya-shaaa’: wallaahu Zul-Fazlil-’aziim.

Lo! those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers; on them is the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined

’Innallaziina kafaruu wa maatuu wa hum kuffaarun ’ulaaa-’ika ‘alayhim la’-natul- laahi wal-malaaa-’ikati wan- naasi ’ajma-’iin, Khaalidiina fiihaa: laa yukhaffafu ‘anhumul-’azaabu wa laa hum yunzaruun

The likeness of those who disbelieve (in relation to the messenger) is as the likeness of one who calleth unto that which heareth naught except a shout and cry. Deaf, dumb, blind, therefore they have no sense.

Wamasalullaziina kafaruu kamasalillazii yan-‘iqu bimaa laa yasma-‘u ’illaa du-‘aaa-’anw- wa nidaaa-’a a. Summum-buk- mun ‘um-yun-fa-hum laa ya‘- qiluun.

Beautified is the life of the world for those who disbelieve; they make a jest of the believers. But those who keep their duty to Allah will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will.

Zuyyina lillaziina kafarul- hayaatud-dunyaa wa yas-kharuuna minallaziina 'aamanuu. Wallaziinat-taqaw fawqahum Yawmal-Qiyaamah. Wal-laahu yarzuqu many- yashaaa-’u bi-gayri hisaab

Allah is the Protecting Friend of those who believe. He bringeth them out of darkness into light. As for those who disbelieve, their patrons are false deities. They bring them out of light into darkness. Such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein

'Allaahu Waliy-yullaziina 'aamanuu yukhrijuhum-minaz- zulumaati 'ilan-nuur. Wallaziina kafaruuu 'aw-liyaaa-’u-humut- Taaguutu yukhrijuuna-hum- minan-Nuuri ’ilaz-zulu-maat. ’Ulaaa-’ika 'As-haabun-Naari hum fiihaa khaaliduun.

Aforetime, for a guidance to mankind; and hath revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong). Lo ! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, theirs will be a heavy doom. Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite the wrong.

Min-qablu Hudal-linnaasi wa ’anzalal-Furqaan. 'Innal- laziina kafaruu bi- ’aayaati! - laahi lahum ‘azaabun-shadiid: wallaahu ‘Aziizun-Zuntiqaam

(On that Day) neither the riches nor the progeny of those who disbelieve will aught avail them with Allah. They will be fuel for fire

’Innal-laziina kafaruu lan- tug-niya ‘anhum ’amwaaluhum wa laaa ’awlaaduhum-minal- laahi shay-’aa: wa ’ulaaa-’ika hum waquudun-Naar.

Say (O Muhammad) unto those who disbelieve: Ye shall be overcome and gathered unto Hell, an evil resting-place.

Qul-lillaziina kafaruu sa- tuglabuunawatuhsharuuna’ilaa Jahannam; wa bi’-sal-mi-haad

And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.

Wa makaruu wa makarallaah: wallaahu Kharrul-maakiriin

(And remember) when Allah said: 0 Jesus ! Lo ! I am gather­ing thee and causing thee to as­cend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.

’Iz qaalallaahu yaa-‘lisaaa ’innii muta-waffika wa raafi-'uka 'i-layya wa mu(ahhi-ruka minallaziina kafaruu wa jaa- ‘ilullazii-nattaba-’uuka faw-qal- laziina kafaruuu ’ilaa Yawmil- Qiyaamah. Summa 'ilayya marji- ‘ukumfa-’ahkumu baynakumfii- maa kuntum fiihi takh-talifuun.

How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and (after) they bore witness that the messenger is true and after clear proofs (of Allah’s sove­reignty) had come unto them? And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

Kayfa yahdillaahu qawman kafaruu ba‘-da 'iimaani- him wa shahiduuu 'annar- Rasuula baqqunw-wa jaaa- 'ahumul-Bayyinaatz Wallaahu laa yahdil-qawmaz;-zaalimiin

Lo ! those who disbelieve after their (profession of) belief, and after­ward grow violent in disbelief: their

repentance will not be accepted. And such are those who are astray

'Innal-laziina kafaruu ba‘- da 'iimaanihim summaz-daa- duu kufral-lan tuqbala taw-batuhum; wa ’ulaaa-’ika humuz-zaaal-luuun.

Lo ! those who disbelieve, and die in disbelief, the (whole) earth full of gold would not be accepted from such an one if it were offered as a ransom (for his soul). Theirs will be a painful doom and they will have no helpers

Innal-laziina dafaruu wa maatuu wa hum kuffaarun falany-yuqbala mil ul arzi zahabanw-wa la-wiftadaa bih. Ullaaa ika la-hum azaabun aliimunw-wa maa lahum min naasiriin

Lo ! the riches and the progeny of those who disbelieve will not avail them aught against Allah; and such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein.

'Innal-laziina kafaruu lan- tugniya 'anhum ’amwaa-luhum wa laaa ’awlaaduhum-minal-laahi shay-’aa: wa ’ulaaa-’ika 'As-haa- bun-Naari hum fiihaa khaaliduun

That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieve, or overwhelm them so that they retire, frustrated. 

Li-yaqta-‘a tara-fam- minallaziina kafaruuu ’aw yakbitahum fa-

O ye who believe! If ye obey those who disbelieve, they will make you turn back on your heels, and ye turn back as losers

Yaaa-’ayyu-hallaziina ’aamanuuu ’ifi-tutii-‘ullaziina kafaruu yarudduukum ‘alaaa ’a‘- qaabikum fatah-qalibuu khaasiriin.

We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because they ascribe unto Allah partners, for which no warrant hath been revealed. Their habitation is the Fire, and hapless the abode of the wrong-doers.

Sanulqii fii quluu-billa- ziina kafarur-ru‘-ba bimaaa 'ashrakuu billaahi maa lam yunazzil bihii sultaanaa: wa ma’- waahumun-Naar: wa bi’-sa maswaz-zaalimiin

O ye who believe! Be not as those who disbelieved and said of their brethren who went abroad in the land or were fighting in the field: If they had been (here) with us they would not have died or been killed; that Allah may make it anguish in their hearts. Allah giveth life and causeth death; and Allah is Seer of what ye do.

Yaaa-’ayyu-hallaziina 'aa-manuu laa takuunuu kallaziina kafaruu wa qaaluu li- ’ikhwaa-nihim 'izaa zarabuu fil- ’arzi 'aw kaanuu guzzal-law1 kaanuu ‘indanaa maa maatuu wa maa qutiluu; li-yaj-'alallaahu zaalika hasratan-fii quluubihim. Wallaahu yubyii wa yumiit, wallaahu bimaa ta'-maluuna Basiir.

Let not the vicissitude (of the success) of those who disbelieve, in the land, deceive thee (O Muhammad).

Laa yagurrannaka taqal- lu-bullaziina kafaruu fil-bilaad

On that clay those who disbelieved and disobeyed the messenger will wish that they were level with the ground, and they can hide no fact from Allah.

Yawma-’iziny-yawaddul- laziina kafaruu wa ‘asa-wur- Rasuula law tu-sawwaa bihi- mul-’arz. Wa laa yaktumuu- nallaaha hadiisaa

Hast thou not seen those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given, how they believe in idols and false deities, and how they say of those (idolaters) who disbelieve: These are more rightly guided than those who believe?”

'Alam tara 'ilallaziina 'uu-tuu nasiibam-minal-Kitaabi yu’- minuuna bil-Jibti wat-Taaguuti wa yaquuluuna lil-laziina kafaruu haaa-’ulaaa-’i ‘ahdaa minallaziina 'aamanuu sabiilaaz

And of them were (some) who believed therein and of them were (some) who disbelieved therein: Hell is sufficient for (their) burning

Faminhum-man aamana bihii wa minhum man sadda anh; wa kafaa bi jahannama sa iiraa

LofThose who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment. Lo ! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

’Innallaziina kafaruu bi- ’Aayaatinaa sawfa nusliihim Naaraa. Kullamaa nazijat ju- luuduhum baddalnaahum ju- luudan gayrahaa li-yazuuqul- ‘azaab: 'innallaaha kaana ‘Aziizan Hakiimaa

Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devils strategy is ever weak

‘Allaziina ’aamanuu yuqaa- tiluuna fii Sabiilillaahi wallazii­na kafaruu yuqaa-tiluuna fii Sabiilit-Taaguuti faqaa-tiluuu ’aw-liyaaa-’ash-Shaytaan: ’in­na kaydash-Shaytaani kaana za-‘iifaa

So fight (O Muhammad) in the way of Allah—Thou art, not taxed (with the responsibility for any­one) except for thyself—and urge on the believers. Peradventure, Allah will restrain the might of those who disbelieve. Allah is stronger in might and stronger in inflicting punishment

Faqaatil fii Sabiilillaah— laa tukallafu ’illaa nafsaka wa harrizil-Mu’-miniin. ‘Asal-laahu 'any-yakuffa ba’-sal-laziina kafaruu: wallaahu ’ashaddu ba’- sanw-wa ’ashaddu tankiilaa.

They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity), then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them

Wadduu law tak-furuuna kamaa kafaruu fata-kuunuuna sawaaa-’ah falaa tattakhizuu minhum ’aw-liyaaa-’a hattaa

yuhaajiruu fii Sabiilillaah; fa-’in- tawal-law fa-khuzuuhum waq- tuluuhum haygu wajattu- muuhum; wa laa tatta-khizuu minhum waliy-yanw-wa laa nasiiraa

And when ye go forth in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail (your) worship if ye fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.

Wa ’izaa zarab-tum fil-’arzi fa-laysa ‘alaykum junaa-hun ’an- taq-suruu minas-§alaa-ti 'in khif- tum ’any-yaftina-ku-mul-laziina kafaruu: ’innal-kaafiriina kaanuu lakum ‘aduw-wam-mubiinaa Wa ’izaa zarab-tum fil-’arzi fa-laysa ‘alaykum junaa-hun ’an- taq-suruu minas-§alaa-ti 'in khif- tum ’any-yaftina-ku-mul-laziina kafaruu: ’innal-kaafiriina kaanuu lakum ‘aduw-wam-mubiinaa

And when thou (O Muhammad) art among them and arrangest (their) worship for them let only a party of them stand with thee (to worship) and let them take their arms. Then when they have performed their prostrations let them fall to the rear of you and let another party come that hath not worshipped and let them worship with thee, and let them take their precaution and their arms.Those who disbelieve long for you to neglect your arms and your baggage that they may attack you once for all. It is no sin for you to lay aside your arms, if rain impedeth you or ye are sick. But take your precaution. Lo ! Allah prepareth for the disbelievers shameful punishment.

Wa ’izaa kunta fiihim fa- ’aqamta lahumus-Çalaata fal- taqumtaaa-’ifatum-minhum-ma- ‘aka wal-ya’-khuzuuu 'asli- hatahum: fa-'izaa sajaduu fal- yakuunuu rnihw-w araaa-’ikum. Wal-ta’ti taaa-’ifatun ’ukh-raa lam yu-salluu fal-yu-çalluu ma-‘aka wal-ya’-khuzuu hizra-hum wa ’asli-hatahum. Waddallaziina kafaruu lawtag-fuluuna ‘an ’asli- hatikum wa ’amti-‘ati-kum faya- miiluuna ‘alaykum-may-latafiw- waahidah. Wa laa junaaha ‘alaykum 'in-kaana bi-kum ’azam- mim-matarin ’aw kuntum- marjaaa ’an-taza-'uuu ’asli- hatakum: wa khuzuu hiz-rakum. 'Innallaaha 'a-‘adda lil-kaafiriina ‘azaabam-muhiinaa.

Lo! those who believe, then disbelieve and then (again) believe, then disbelieve, and then increase in disbelief, Allah will never pardon them, nor will He guide them unto a way.

’Innal-laziina 'aamanuu summa kafaruu summa ’aama­nuu §umma kafaruu summaz- daaduu kufral-lam yakunillaahu li-yagfira lahum wa laa li-yahdi- yahum Sabiilaa

lo! those who disbelieve and hinder (others) from the way of Allah, they verily have wandered far astray.

’Innal-laziina kafaruu wa sadduu ‘an-Sabii-lillaahi qad zalluu zalaalam-ba-‘iidaa

Lo! those who disbelieve and deal in wrong, Allah will never forgive them, neither will He guide them unto a road

’Innal-laziina kafaruu wa zalamuu lam yakunillaahu li- yagfira lahum wa laa li-yahdi- yahum tariiqaa

Forbidden unto you (forfood) are carrion and blood and swine- flesh, and that which hath been dedicated unto any other than Allah, and the dead through beating, and the strangled, and the dead through falling from a height, and that which hath been killed by (the goring of) horns, and the devoured of wild beasts, saving that which ye make lawful (by the deathstroke), and that which hath been immolated unto idols. And (forbidden is it) that ye apportion by the divining arrows. This is an abomination. This day are those who disbelieve in despair of (ever harming) your religion; so fear them not, fear Me! This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour unto you, and have chosen for you as religion AL-ISLAM. Whoso is forced by hunger, not by will, to sin: (for him) lo ! Allah is Forgiving

Hurri-mat ‘alaykumul- may-tatu waddamu wa lah- mul-khin-ziiri wa maaa ’uhilla li-gayrillaahi bihii wal-mun- kha-niqatu wal-maw-quuzatu wal-muta-raddi-yatu wannatii- hatu wa maaa ’akalas-sabu-‘u ’illaa maa zakkaytum; wa maa zubiha ‘alan-nusubi wa ’an- tastaq-simuu bil-’azlaam: zaa- likum fisq. ’Al-yawma ya-’isal- laziina kafaruu min-diinikum falaa takh-shaw-hum wakh- shawn. ’Al-yawma ’ak-maltu lakum Diina-kum wa ’at-mam- tu ‘alaykum ni‘-matii wa razii- tu lakumul-’ISLAAMA Diinaa. Famaniz-turra fii makh-masa- tin gayra mutajaa-nifil-li-’ismin- fa-innallaaha Gafuurur- Rahiim.

And they who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, such are rightful owners of hell

Wallaziina kafaruu wa kazzabuu bi-’Aayaa-tinaaa 'ulaaa-’ika ’A§-haabul-Jahiim

As for those who disbelieve, lo ! if all that is in the earth were theirs, and as much again therewith, to ransom them from the doom on the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted frqm them. Theirs will be a painful doom

’Innal-laziina kafaruu law ’anna lahum-maa fil-’arzi ja-mii- ‘anw-wa mislahuu ma-‘ahuu li- yaf-taduu bihii min ‘azaabi Yawmil-Qiyaamati maa tuqubbila minhum. Wa lahum 'azaabun 'aliim.

They surely disbelieve who say: Lo ! Allah is the third of three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying, a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.

ad kafa-rallaziina qaa­luuu 'innallaaha Saa-lisu-§a- laa-sah. Wa maa min 'ilaahin 'illaaa ’llaahunw-Waahid. Wa 'illam yan-tahuu ‘ammaa ya­quuluuna la-yamassan-nalla- ziina kafaruu minhum ‘azaa-bun 'aliim

Those of the Children of Israel who went astray were cursed by the tongue of David, and of Jesus, son of Mary. That was because they rebelled and used to transgress.

Lu-‘inallaziina kafaruu mim-Baniii-’Israaa-’iila ‘alaa lisaani Daa-wuuda wa ‘lisabni- Maryam: zaalika bimaa ‘açaw- wa kaanuu ya’-taduun

But those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire

Wallaziina kafaruu wa kaz-zabuu bi-’Aayaa-tinaaa ’ulaaa-’ika 'As-haabul-Jahiim

Allah hath not appointed anything in the nature of a Bahirah or a Sai’bah or a Wasilah or Hami, but those who disbelieve invent a lie against Allah. Most of them have no sense

Maa ja-‘alal-laahu mim- bahii-ratinw-wa laa saaa-’iba- tinw-wa laa wasiilatinw-wa laa haaminw-wa laakinnal-laziina kafaruu yaftaruuna ‘alal-laahil- kazib; wa ’aksaruhum laa ya‘- qiluun.

then Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary ! Remember My favour unto thee and unto thy mother; how I strengthened thee with the Holy Spirit, so that thou spakest unto mankind in the cradle as immaturity; and how I taught thee the Scripture and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and how thou didst shape of clay as it were the likeness of a bird by My permission, and didst blow upon it and it was a bird by. My permission, and thou didst heal him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and how thou didst raise the dead by My permission; and how I restrained the Children of Israel from (harming) thee when thou earnest unto them with clear proofs, and those of them who disbelieved exclaimed:This is naught else than evident magic

’Izqaa-lallaahuyaa-'lisab- na-Mar-yamazkur ni‘-matii ‘alayka wa ‘alaa waalidatik. ’Iz ’ay-yattuka bi-ruuhil-qudus. Tukalli-munnaasa fil-mahdi wa kahlaa. Wa ’iz ‘allam-tuka- l-Kitaaba wal-Hikmata wat- Tawraata wal-’lnjiil. Wa 'iz takh- luqu minat-tiini ka-hay-’atit-tayri bi-’iznii fatanfukhu fiihaa fatakuunu tayram-bi-’iznii wa tubri-’ul-’akmaha wal-’abrasa bi- ’iznii. Wa ’iz tukhrijul-maw-taa bi-’iznii. Wa ’iz kafaftu Baniii- ’Israaa-’iila ‘anka ’iz ji’-tahum- bil-bayyi-naati faqaa-lal-laziina kafaruu minhum ’in haazaaa ’illaa sihrum-mubiin.

Praise be to Allah, Who hath created the heavens and the earth, and hath appointed darkness and light. Yet those who disbelieve ascribe rivals unto their Lord.

’Al-Hamdu lillaa-hil-lazii khalaqas-Samaa-waati wal- ’arza wa ja-'alaz-zulumaati wan- Nuur. Summai-laziina kafaruu bi-Rabbihim ya‘-di-luun

Had We sent down unto thee (Muhammad) (actual) writing upon parchment, so that they could feel it with their hands, those who disbelieve would have said: This is naught else than mere magic.

Wa law nazzalnaa ‘alayka Kitaaban-fii qir-taasin falama- suuhu bi-’aydiihim laqaa-lal- laziina kafaruuu ’in haazaaa ’illaa sihrum-mubiin

Of them are some who listen unto thee, but We have placed upon their hearts veils lest they should understand, and in their ears a deafness. If they saw every token they would not believe therein; to the point that, when they come unto thee to argue with thee, the disbelievers say: This is naught else than fables of the men of old.

Wa minhum-many-yasta- mi-‘u ’ilayk; wa ja-‘alnaa ‘alaa quluu-bihim ’a-kinnatan ’any- yafqahuuhu wa fiii ’aazaanihim waqraa; wa 'iny-ya-raw kulla ’Aayatil-laa yu’-minuu bihaa: hattaaa 'izaa jaaa-’uuka yujaa- diluunaka yaquu-lul-laziina kafaruuu 'in haazaaa ’illaaa ’asaa-tiirul-’awwa-liin.

The chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving said: Lo ! we surely see thee in foolishness, and lo ! we deem thee of the liars.

Qaalal-mala-’ullaziina ka­faruu miri-qaw-mihiii ’innaa lana- raaka fii safaahatinw-wa ’innaa lana-zunnuka minal-kaazibiin

But the chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving, said: If ye follow Shu'eyb, then truly ye shall be the losers

Waqaalal-mala-’ul-laziina kafaruu min-qaw-mihii la-’init- taba'-tum Shu-'ayban ’inna-kum ’izal-la-khaasiruun

When thy Lord inspired the angels (saying:) I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger

uuhii Rabbuka ’ilal- malaaa-’ikati 'annii ma-‘akumfasabbi-tullaziina’aamanuu.Sa- rp, ’ulqii fii quluu-billaziina kafarur- ru’-bafazribuufaw-qal-’a’-naaqi  wazribuu min-hum kulla banaan.

O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them

Yaaa-’ayyu-hallaziina’aa-manuuu ’izaa laqiitu-mul-lazii-na kafaruu zahfan-falaa tu-wal-

And when those who disbelieve plot against thee (O Muhammad) to wound thee fatally, or to kill thee or to drive thee forth; they plot, but Allah (also) plotteth; and Allah is the best of plotters.

Wa ’iz yamkuru bikallazii- na kafaruu li-yusbituuka 'awyaq- tuluuka 'aw yukhri-juuk. Wa yamku-ruunawayamku-rullaah: wallaahu Khayrul-maakiriin.

Lo! those who disbelieve spend their wealth in order that they may debar (men) from the way of Allah. They will spend it, then it will become an anguish for them, then they will be conquered. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto hell:

’Innal-laziina kafaruu yunfi-quuna ’amwaa-lahum li- yasudduu ‘an-Sabii-lillaah. Fasa-yunfi-quunahaa summa takuunu ‘alay-him hasratan summa yug-labuun. Wallaziina kafaruuu’ilaaJahannamayuh- sharuuna;-

Tell those who disbelieve that if they cease (from persecution of believers) that which is past will be forgiven them; but if they return (thereto) then the example of the men of old hath already gone (before them, for a warning).

Qul-lillaziinakafaruuu’ihy- yan-tahuu yagfar lahum-maa qad salaf; wa ’ihy-ya-‘uu-duu faqad mazat Sunnatul-’aw-wa- liin

If thou couldst see how the angels receive those who disbelieve, smiting theirfaces and their backs and (saying): Taste the punishment of burning

Wa law taraaa ’iz yata- waffal-laziina kafarul-malaaa- ’ikatu yazri-buuna wujuu-ha- hum wa ’adbaara-hum: wa zuu- quu ‘Azaabal-hariiq!

Their way is) as the way of Pharaoh’s folk and those before them; they disbelieved the revelations of Allah, and Allah took them in their sins. Lo! Allah is Strong, severe in punishment

Kada’-bi ’Aali-Fir-’awna wallaziina min-qablihim: kafa­ruu bi-’Aayaa-tillaahi fa-’akha- za-humul-laahu bi-zunuu-bi- him. 'Innal-laaha Qa-wiyyun- Shadiidul-’iqaab

Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are the ungrateful who will not believe

’Inna sharrad-dawaaabbi ‘indallaa-hillaziina kafaruu fa- hum laa yu'-mi-nuun

And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah’s purpose). Lo! they cannot escape

Wa laa yahsa-bannal- laziina kafaruu sabaquu: ’innahum laa yu‘-jizuun.

O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there be of you twenty steadfast they shall overcome two hundred, and if there be of you a hundred steadfast they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they (the disbelievers) are a folk without intelligence

Yaaa-’ayyuhan-Nabiyyu harrizil-Mu’-miniina ‘alal-qi-taal. ’Iny-yakum-minkum ‘ish-ruuna saabi-ruunayag-libuu mi-’atayn; wa ’iny-yakum-minkum-mi- 'atuny-yag-libuu ’alfam-minalla- ziina kafaruu bi-’annahum qawmul-laa yaf-qa-huun

And those who disbelieve are protectors one of another-lf ye do not so, there will be confusion in the land, and great corruption

Walla-ziina kafaruu ba‘- zuhum ’awli-yaaa-’u ba‘-z: ’il­laa taf-‘aluuhutakun-fitnatun-fil- 'arzi wa fasaadun-kabiir

And a proclamation from Allah and His messenger to all men on the day of the greater Pilgrimage that Allah is free from obligation to the idolaters, and (so is) His messenger. So, if ye repent, it will be better for you; but if ye are averse, then know that ye cannot escape Allah. Give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom to those who disbelieve

Wa 'azaanum-minal-laahi wa Rasuu-lihiii 'ilan-naasi yawmal-Hajjil-’Akbari 'annal- laaha bariii-’um-minal-mush- rikiina wa Rasuu-luh. Fa-’in- tubtum fa-huwa khayrul-la-kum: wa 'in-ta-wallay-tum fa‘-lamuuu 'anna-kum gayru mu'-jizillaah. Wa bashshi-ril-laziina kafaruu bi-‘azaaabin 'aliim

Then Allah sent His peace of reassurance down upon His mess­enger and upon the believers, and sent down hosts ye could not see, and punished those who disbelieved. Such is the reward of disbelievers

umma’anza-lallaahusa- kiina-tahuu ‘alaa Rasuulihii wa ‘alal-Mu’-miniina wa 'an-zala, junuudal-lam-tarawhaa: wa ‘azza-ballaziina kafaruu. Wa, zaalika jazaaa-’ul-kaafiriin

And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they

a qaa-latil-Yahuudu ‘Uzayru-nib-nullaahi wa qaa- latin-Nasaaral-Masiihub-nul- laah. Zaalika qaw-luhum-bi- 'afwaa-hihim. Yuzaahi-’uuna qaw-lalla-ziina kafaruu min-qabl. Qaatala-humullaah; 'annaa yu’- fakuun!

Postponement (of a sacred month) is only an excess of disbelief whereby those who disbelieve are misled, they allow it one year and forbid it (another) year, that they may make up the number of the months which Allah hath hallowed, so that they allow that which Allah hath forbidden. The evil of their deeds is made fair-seeming unto them. Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk

Tnna-mannasiii-'u ziyaa- datun-fil-kufri yu-zallu bihil- laziina kafaruu yuhilluu-nahuu ‘aamahw-wa yuharri-muuna- huu ‘aamal-li-yuwaati-’uu ‘id- data maa harra-mallaahu fa- yuhilluu maa harramallaah. Zuy- yina lahum suuu-’u ’a‘-maalihim. Wallaahu laa yahdil-qawmal- Kaafi-riin

If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye could not see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise

’Illaa tan-suruuhu faqad nasara-hullaahu ’iz ’akhraja- hullaziina kafaruu Saani-yas- nayni ’iz humaa fil-Gaari ’iz yaquulu li-Saahi-bihii “Laa tahzan 'innal-laaha ma-‘anaa”. Fa-’anzalal-laahu sakii-natahuu ‘alayhi wa 'ayya-dahuu bi-ju- nuudil-lam taraw-haa wa ja-‘ala kalimatalla-ziina kafarus-suflaa; wa Kalima-tullaahi hi-yal-‘Ulyaa: wal-laahu ‘Aziizun Hakiim

And naught preventeth that their contributions should be accepted from them save that they have disbelieved in Allah and in His messenger, and they come not to worship save as idlers, and pay not (theircontribution) save reluctantly

Wa maa mana-’ahum 'an- tuqbala minuum nafaqaa-tu- hum 'illaaa 'annahum kafaruu bil-laahi wa bi-Rasuulihii wa laa ya’-tuunas-Salaata’illaa wa hum kusaalaa wa laa-yun-fiquuna 'illaa wa hum kaari-huun

They swear by Allah that they said nothing (wrong), yet they did say the word of disbelief, and did disbelieve after their Surrender (to Allah). And they purposed that which they could not attain, and they sought revenge only because Allah and His messenger had enriched them of His bounty. If they repent, it will be better for them; and if they turn away, Allah will afflict them with a painful doom in the world and the Hereafter, and they have no pro­tecting friend nor helper in the earth

Yahli-fuuna billaahi maa qaaluu, wa laqad qaaluu kali- matal-kufri wa kafaruu ba‘-da ’Islaa-mihimwahammuubi-maa lam yanaaluu: wa        maa

naqamuuu ’illaaa 'an ’agnaa- humul-laahu wa Rasuu-luhuu min-fazlih! Fa-’iny-yatuu-buu yaku khayral-lahum; wa ’iny- yata-wal-law yu-‘azzib-humul- laahu ‘azaaban 'aliiman-fid- dunyaa wal-’Aak_hirah; wa maa lahum fil-’arzi minw-wa-liyyinw- wa laa nasiir

Ask forgiveness for them (O Muhammad), or ask not forgive­ness for them; though thou ask for­giveness for them seventy times Allah will not for give them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk

'Istagfir lahum ’aw laa tastag-fir lahum: 'in-tastag-fir lahum sab-‘iina marratan- falany-yag-fira- l-laahu lahum. Zaalika bi-’an- nahum kafaruu billaahi wa Rasuulih: wallaahu laa yah-dil- qawmal-faasiqiin.

And never (O Muhammad) pray for one of them who dieth, nor stand by his grave. Lo! they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and they died while they were evil-doers

Wa laa tusalli ‘alaaa ’aha- dim-minhum-maata ’abadanw- wa laataqum ‘alaaqabrih. ’Inna­hum kafaruu billaahi wa Rasuu- lihii wa maatuu wa hum faasi- quun

And those among the wandering Arabs who had an excuse came in order that permission might be granted them. And those who lied to Allah and His messenger sat at home. A painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve

Wa jaaa-’al-mu-‘az- ziruuna minal-’A’-raabi liyu ’zana lahum waqa-'adal-laziina kazabul-laaha wa Rasuu-lah. Sa-yusii-bulla-ziina kafaruu minhum ‘azaabun ’aliim

Unto Him is the return of all of you; it is a promise of Allah in truth. Lo! He produceth creation, then reproduceth it, that He may reward those who believe and do good works with equity; while as for those who disbelieve, theirs will be a boiling drink and painful doom because they disbelieved

'Ilay-hi marji-’ukum jamii- ‘aa. Wa‘-dallaahi haqqaa. 'In- nahuu yabda-’ul Khalqa summa yu-‘iiduhuu li-yajzi-yallaziina ’aa­manuu wa ‘amilus-saalihaati bil- qist; wallaziina kafaruu lahum sharaabum-min hamii-minwwa ‘azaabun ’aliimum-bimaa kaan­uu yak-furuun

And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days—and His Throne was upon the water—that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. Yet if thou (O Muhammad) sayest: Lo! ye will be raised again after death ! those who disbelieve will surely say: This is not but evident magic

Wa Huwal-lazii khala-qas- samaawaati wal-’arza fii Sittati 'ayyaa - minwwa kaana ‘Ar- shuhuu ‘alal-Maaa-’i li-yablu- wakum ‘ayyu - kum ’ahsanu ’amalaa. Wa la-’in-qulta 'inna- kum-mab-‘uusuuna mim - ba‘-dil- mawti la-ya-quulan - nal-laziina kafaruuu ’in haa-zaaa 'illaa sihrum-mubiin

The chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: We see thee but a mortal like us, and we see not that any follow thee save the most abject among us, without reflection. We behold in you no merit above us—nay, we deem you liars

Faqaalal-Mala-’ulla-ziina kafaruu min-qaw-mihii maa naraaka ’illaa basharam-misla- naa wa maa naraa-kattaba-‘a- ka ’illal-laziina hum ’araazilunaa baadi-yar-ra’y: wa maa naraa lakum ‘alay-naa mih-fazlim-bal nazun-nukum kaazi-biin!

And a curse was made to follow them in the world and on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! ‘Aad disbelieved in their Lord. A far removal for ‘Aad, the folk of Hud

Wa ’utbi-‘uu fii haazihid- dunyaala‘-natanwwaYaw-mal-Qi- yaamah. ‘Alaaa ‘inna ‘Aadan- kafaruu Rabbahum! ‘Alaa bu‘-dal- li-‘Aadin-Qaw-mi-Huud

And if thou wonderest, then wondrous is their saying: When we are dust, are we then forsooth (to be raised) in a new creation? Such are they who disbelieve in their Lord; such have carcans on their necks, such are rightful owners of the Fire, they will abide therein

Wa ’in-ta'-jab fa-’ajabuh- qawlu-hum ’a-’izaa kunnaa tu- raaban ’a-’innaa lafii khal-qin- jadiidz ’Ulaaa-’ikallaziina ka­faruu bi-Rabbihim! Wa ’ulaaa- ’ikal-’aglaalu fiii 'a‘-naaqi-him: wa ’ulaaa-’ika ’As-haabun-Naari hum fiihaa khaa-liduun

Those who disbelieve say: If only some portent were sent down upon him from his Lord! Thou art a warner only, and for every folk is a guide

Wa yaquu-lullaziina kafaruu law laaa 'unzila ‘alayhi ’Aaya-tum-mir-Rabbihz ’Innamaaa 'anta mun-zirunwwa li-kulli qawmin haad

Those who disbelieve say: If only a portent were sent down upon him from his Lord! Say: Lo! Allah sendeth whom He will astray, and guideth unto Himself all who turn (unto Him

Wa yaquu-lullaziina kafa­ruu law laaa 'unzila ‘alayhi 'Aa- yatum-mir-Rabbihz Qui ’innal­laaha yu-zillu mahyya-shaaa-’u wa yah-diii ’ilayhi man ’anaab

Had it been possible for a Lecture to cause the mountains to move, or the earth to be torn asunder, or the dead to speak, (this Qur’an would have done so). Nay, but Aliah’s is the whole command. Do not those who believe know that, had Allah willed, He could have guided all mankind? As for those who disbelieve, disaster ceaseth not to strike them because of what they do, or it dwelleth near their home until the threat of Allah come to pass. Lo! Allah faileth not to keep the tryst

Wa law ’anna Qur-’aanah suyyi-rat bihil-jibaalu ’aw qut-ti- ‘at bihil-’arzu 'aw kullima bihil- maw-taa, bal-lillaahil-’Amru jamii-‘aa! ’Afa-lam yay-’asil- laziina ’aamanuuu ’al-law yashaaa-’ullaahu laha- dannaasa jamii-‘aaz Wa laa yazaa-lullaziina kafaruu tusii- buhum-bimaa sana-‘uu Qaari- ‘atun ’aw tahullu qariibam-min daari-him hattaa ya’ti-ya wa‘- dullaah. 'Innal-laaha laa yukh- liful-mii-’aad

And verily messengers (of Allah) were mocked before thee, but long I bore with those who disbe­lieved. At length I seized them, and how (awful) was My punishment

’Afaman Huwa qaaa-’i- mun ‘alaa kulli nafsim-bimaa kasabatz Wa ja-‘aluu lillaahi shura-kaaa’. Qui sammuu-hum! ’Am tunabbi-’uunahuu bimaa laa ya‘-lamu fil-’arzi ’am-bizaa-hirim- minal-qawlz Bal zuyyi-na lilla- ziina kafaruu mak-ruhum wa sudduu ‘anis-Sabiil. Wa mahyyuzli-lillaahu famaa lahuu min haad

They who disbelieve say: Thou art no messenger (of Allah). Say: Allah, and whosoever hath true knowledge of the Scripture, is suffi­cient witness between me and you

Wa yaquu-lullaziina kafa­ruu lasta mur-salaa. Qui kafaa billaahi shahii-dam- bay-nii wa bay-nakum wa man ‘ihdahuu ‘ilmul-Kitaab

And those who disbelieved said unto their messengers: Verily we will drive you out from our land, unless ye return to our religion. Then their Lord inspired them, (saying): Verily We shall destroy the wrong-doers

Wa qaalal-laziina kafaruu li-rusulihim la-nukhri-janna- kum-min 'arzinaaa ’aw lata- ‘uudunna fii milla-tinaa. Fa- ’awhaaa ’ilay-him Rabbuhum lanuhli-kannaz-zaa-limiin

A similitude of those who disbelieve in their Lord: Their works are as ashes which the wind bloweth hard upon a stormy day. They have no control of aught that they have earned. That is the extreme failure

Masalul-laziina kafaruu bi- Rabbihim ’a‘-maaluhum kara- maadi-nish-taddat bihir-riihu fii yaw-min ‘aasif: laa yaqdi-ruuna mimmaa kasabuu ‘alaa shay’: zaalika huwaz-zalaalul-ba'iid.

It may be that those who
disbelieve wish ardently that they
were Muslims

RUBAMAA YA-WAD- DUL-LAZIINA kafaruu law kaanuu Musli-miin

That he may explain unto them that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved may know that they were liars

Li-yubayyina lahumullazii yakhtalifuuna fiihi wa li-ya‘la- mallaziina kafaruuu ‘annahum kaanuu kaazibiin

And (bethink you of) the day when We raise up of every nation a witness, then there is no leave for disbelievers, nor are they allowed to make amends

Wa yawma nab-‘asu min- kulli ’ummatin Shahiidan- summa laa yu’-zanu lillaziina kafaruu wa laa hum yusta‘- tabuun

For those who disbelieve  and debar (men) from the way of  We add doom to doom because they wrought corruption

’Allaziina kafaruu wa sad- duu ‘an Sabiilillaahi zidnaa-hum Allah, ‘Azaaban fawqal-’azaabi bimaa, kaanuu yufsiduun

That is their reward because they disbelieved Our revelations and said: When we are bones and fragments shall we, forsooth, be raised up as a new creation

Zaalika jazaaa-’uhum-bi- 'annahum kafaruu bi-'Aayaati- naa wa qaaluuu 'a-’izaa kunnaa ‘izaamanwwa rufaatan 'a-’in-naa la-mab-‘uusuuna khalqan- jadiidaa

We send not the messen­gers save as bearers of good news and warners. Those who disbelieve contend with false­hood in order to refute the Truth thereby. And they take Our revelations and that wherewith they are threatened as a jest.

Wa maa nursilul-mursa- liina ’illaa mubash-shiriina wa munziriin: wa yujaadilulla ziina kafaruu bil-baatili liyud-hizuu bihil-Haqqa wattakhazuuu 'Aayaatii wa maaa 'unziruu huzuwaa

Those are they who disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord and in the meeting with Him. Therefore their works are vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We assign no weight to them

'Ulaaa-’ikallaziina kafaruu bi-’Aayaati Rabbihim wa Liqaaa- ’ihii fa-habifat ’a‘-maa-luhum falaa nuqiimu lahum Yawmal- Qiyaamati waznaa

That is their reward: hell, because they disbelieved, and made a jest of Our revelations and Our messengers

Zaalika jazaaa-’uhum Jahannamu bimaa kafaruu watta-khazuuu ’Aayaatii wa Rusulii huzuwaa

The sects among them differ: but woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day

’Asmi‘ bihim wa ’absir Yawma ya’-tuunan aa laakini*- zaalimuunal-yawma fii zalaa- lim-mubiin!

And when Our clear re­velations are recited unto them, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Which of the two par­ties (yours or ours) is better in posi­tion, and more imposing as an army

Wa 'izaa tutlaa ‘alayhim 'Aayaatunaa bayyinaatin-qaa- lallaziina kafaruu lillaziina 'aamanuuu ’ayyul-fariiqayni khayrum-Maqaamanwwa ’ah­sanu Nadiyyaa

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and We made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?

'Awalam yarallaziina kafaruuu 'annas-samaa-waati wal-'arza kaanataa ratqan- fafataq-naahumaa? Wa ja­'alnaa minal-maaa-’i kulla shay- 'in hayy. 'Afalaa yu’- minuun?

And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent

Wa 'izaa ra-‘aakallaziina kafaruuu 'inyyatta-khizuunaka 'illaa huzuwaa. 'Ahaazallazii yazkuru 'aalihatakum? Wa hum- bi-zikrir-Rahmaani hum kaafiruun!

If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not be able to drive off the fire from their faces and from their backs, and they will not be helped!

Law ya'-lamullaziina kafa­ruu hiina laa yakuffuuna ‘anw- wujuuhihimun-Naara wa laa ‘an- zuhuurihim wa laa hum yunsaruun

And the True Promise draweth nigh; then behold them, staring wide (in terror), the eyes of those who disbelieve! (They say): Alas for us! We (lived) in forgetfulness of this. Ah, but we were wrong-doers

Waqtarabal-Wa‘-dul-Haq- qu fa-’izaa hiya shaakhisatun ’absaarullaziina kafaruu: yaa- waylanaa qad-kunnaa fii gafla tim-min haazaa bal-kunnaa zaalimiin!

These twain (the believers and the disbelievers) are two op­ponents who contend concerning their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads.

Haazaani khasmaanikh- tasamuu fii Rabbihim: falla-ziina kafaruu qutti-'at lahum siyaabum-min-Naar: yusabbu mih-fawqi ru-’uusihimul-ha- miim

Lo! those who disbelieve and bar (men) from the way of Allah and from the Inviolable Place of Worship, which We have appointed for mankind together, the dwellers therein and the nomad; whosoever seeketh wrongful partiality therein, him We shall cause to taste a painful doom

’Innallaaziina kafaruu wa yasudduuna ‘an-Sabiilillaahi wal-Masjidil-Haraamillazii ja- ‘alnaahu linnaasi sawaaa-’anil- ‘aakifu fiihi wal-baad. Wa manyyurid fiihi bi-’ilhaadim-bi- zulmin-nuziqhu min 'Azaa-bin ’aliim.

And those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt thereof until the Hour come upon them unawares, orthere come unto them the doom of a disastrous day

Wa laa yazaa-lullaziina kafaruu fii miryatim-minhu hattaa ta’-tiyahumus-Saa-‘atu bagtatan ’aw ya’-tiyahum ’azaa-bu Yawmin ‘Aqiim.

While those who disbelieved and denied Our revelations, for them will be a shameful doom

Wallaziina kafaruu wa kazzabuu bi-’Aayaatinaa fa- 'ulaaa-’ika lahum ‘Azaabum- muhiin

And when Our revelations are recited unto them, thou knowest the denial in the faces of those who disbelieve; they all but attack those who recite Our revelations unto them. Say: Shall I proclaim unto you worse than that? The Fire! Allah hath promised it for those who disbelieve. A hapless journey’s end!

Wa 'izaa tutlaa ‘alayhim ’Aayaatunaa Bayyinaatin-ta‘-rifu fii wujuu-hillaziina kafarul- munkar! Yakaaduuna yas- tuuna billaziina yatluuna ‘alay­him ’Aayaatinaa. Qui 'afa-’u- nabbi-’ukum-bi-sharrim-mih- zaalikum? 'An-Naar! Wa-‘a-da- hallaa-hullaziina kafaruu! Wabi’- sal-masiir.

But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old

Faqaalal-mala-’ullaziina kafaruu min qawmihii maa haazaaa 'illaa basharum-mislu- kum yuriidu 'anyyata-fazzala ‘alaykum: wa law shaaa-’al- laahu la-’anzala malaaa-’ikah: maa sami'naa bihaazaa fiii 'aabaaa-’inal-'awwaliin

And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink

Wa qaalal-mala-’u min qawmihil-laziina kafaruu wa kazzabuu bi-Liqaaa-’il-’Aakhirati wa 'atrafnaahum fil-ha- yaatiddunyaa maa haazaaa ’illaa basharum-mislukum ya’- kulu mimmaa ta’-kuluuna minhu wa yashrabu mimmaa tash- rabuun.

As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are as a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one supposeth it to be water till he cometh unto it and findeth it naught, and findeth, in the place thereof, Allah, Who payeth him his due; and Allah is swift at reckoning:

Wallaziina kafaruuu ’a‘- maalu-hum ka-saraabim-bi-qii- ‘atiny-yahsabuhuz-jam-’aanu maaa-’aa; hattaaa ’izaa jaaa- ’ahuu lam yajidhu shay-’anwwa wajadallaaha ‘indahuu fawaf- faahu hisaabah: wallaahu Sarii’ul-hisaab

Thihk not that the disbelievers can escape in the land. Fire will be their home-a hapless journey’s end !

Laa tahsabannallaziina kafaruu mu’-jiziina fil-’arz: wa ma’-waahumun-Naar: wa la bi’- sal-masiir!

Those who disbelieve say: This is naught but a lie that he hath invented, and other folk have helped him with it, so that they have produced a slander and a lie

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruuu ’in haazaaa ’illaaa ’ifku-nif- taraahu wa ’a-‘aanahuu ‘alayhi qawmun ’aakharuuna faqad jaaa-’uu zulmanwwa zuuraa.

And those who disbelieve say: Why is the Qur’an not revealed unto him all at once? (It is revealed) thus that We may strengthen thy heart therewith; and We have arranged it in right order.

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu law laa nuzzila ‘alayhil-Qur- ’aanu jumlatanw-Waabidah? Kazaalika linusabbita bihii fu- 'aadaka wa rattalnaahu tartii- laa

Yetthosewho disbelieve say: When we have become dust like our fathers, shall we verily be brought forth (again)?

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruuu ’a-’izaa kunnaa turaabanwwa 'aabaaa-’unaaa 'a-’innaa la- mukhrajuun?

Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars.

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu lillaziina ’aamanuttabi-‘uu sa- biilanaa wal-nahmil khataa- yaakum. Wa maa hum-bi- haamiliina min khataa-yaa-hum- min-shay’; ’innahum la-kaazibuun

Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in (their) meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there a painful doom

Wallaziina kafaruu bi- 'Aayaatillaahi wa Liqaaa-’ihiii ’ulaaa-’ika  ya-’isuu mir lahum ‘Azaabun ’aliim

Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Allah sufficeth for witness between me and you. He knoweth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those who believe in vanity and disbelieve in Allah, they it is who are the losers..

Qui kafaa billaahi baynii wa baynakum Shahiidaa: ya‘- lamu maa fissamaawaati wal- ’arz. Wallaziina 'aamanuu bil- baatili wa kafaruu billaahi 'ulaaa- ’ika humul-khaasiruun.

But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our revelations, and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, such will be brought to doom

Wa ’ammallaziina kafaruu wa kazzabuu bi-’Aayaatinaa wa liqaaa-’il-’Aakhirati fa-’u-laaa- ’ika fil-‘azaabi muhzaruun.

Verily, We have coined for mankind in this Qur’an all kinds of simil'tudes; and indeed if thou comest unto them with a miracle, those who disbelieve would verily exclaim: Ye are but trickesters

Wa laqad zarabnaa linnaasi fii haazal-QUR-'AANI miri kulli masal: wa la-’iri-ji’- tahum-bi- ’Aayatil-laya-quulan-nallaziina kafaruuu 'in ’aritum’illaa mubtiluun

Say (unto them): On the day of the victory the faith of those who disbelieve (and who then will believe) will not avail them, neither will they be reprieved.

Qui Yawmal-Fat-hi laa yanfa-'ullaziina kafaruuu 'ii- maanuhum wa laa hum yunzaruun

And Allah repulsed the disbelievers in their wrath; they gained no good. Allah averted their attack from the believers. Allah is Strong, Mighty.

Wa raddallaahullaziina kafaruu bi-gayzihim lam yanaaluu khayraa; wa kafallaahul-Mu’- miniinal-qitaal. Wa kaanallaahu Qawiyyan ‘Aziizaa.

Those who disbelieve say: The Hour will nevercome unto us. Say: Nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen. Not an atom’s weight, or less than that or greater, escapeth Him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in record

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu laa ta’-tiinas-Saa-‘ah: qui balaa wa Rabbii lata’-tiyannakum ‘Aalimil-gayb. Laa ya‘-zubu ‘anhu misqaalu zarratin- f issamaawaati wa laa fil-’arzi wa laaa ’asgaru min zaalika wa laaa ’akbaru 'illaa fii kitaabim mubin

Those who disbelieve say: Shall we show you a man who will tell you (that) when ye have become dispersed in dust with most complete dispersal, still, even then, ye will be created anew

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu hal nadullukum 'alaa rajuliny- yunabbi-’ukum’izaamuzziqtum kulla mumazzaqin 'innakum lafii khalqin-jadiid

This We awarded them because of their ingratitude. Punish We ever any save the ingrates

Zaalika jazaynaahum- bimaa kafaruu: wa hal nujaaziii ‘illal-kafuur

And those who disbelieve say: We believe not in this Qur’an nor in that which was before it; but oh, if thou couldst see, when the wrong-doers are brought up before their Lord, how they cast the blame one to another; how those who were despised (in the earth) say unto those who were proud: But for you, we should have been believers

Wa qaalal-laziina kafaruu lan-nu’-mina bihaazal-Qur-’aani wa laa billazii bayna yadayh. Wa lawtaraaa 'izig-zaalimuuna mawquufuuna ‘inda Rabbihim yarji-‘u ba‘-zuhum 'ilaa ba‘-gi- nil-qawl. Yaquulul-lazii-nas-tuz- ‘ifuu lillaziinas-takbaruu law laaa 'aritum lakunnaa Mu’-miniin

And We sent not unto any township a warner, but its pampered ones declared: Lo ! We are disbelievers in that with which ye have been sent.

Wa qaalal-laziinas-tuz- ‘ifuu lillaziinas-takbaruu bal- makrul-layli-wan-nahaaari ’izta’- muruunanaaa 'an-nakfura billaahi wa naj-'ala lahuuu 'andaadaa! Wa 'asarrun-nadaa- mata lammaa ra-’awul-‘Azaab. Wa ja-‘alnal-’aglaala fiii ’a‘- naaqii-laziina kafaruu: hal yujzawna ’illaa maa kaanuu ya’- maluun

When they disbelieved in it of yore. They aim at the unseen from afar off.

Wa qad kafaruu bihii min qablu wa yaqzifuuna bil-gaybi mim-makaanim-ba-‘iid

Those who disbelieve, theirs will be an awful doom; and those who believe and do good works, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.

’Allaziina kafaruu lahum ‘Azaabun-shadiid! Wallaziina ’aamanuu wa ‘amilus-saalihaati lahum-magfiratuhw-wa ’Ajrun kabiir

Then seized I those who disbelieved, and how intense was My abhorrence!

Summa 'akhaztullaziina kafaruu fakayfa kaana nakiir.

But as for those who isbelieve, for them is fire of hell; taketh not complete effect upon îem so that they can die, nor is its )rment lightened for them. Thus /e punish every ingrate.

Wallaziina kafaruu lahum Naaru Jahannam; laa yuqjaa ‘alayhim fayamuutuu wa laa yukhaffafu ‘anhum-min ‘Azaa- bihaa. Kazaalika najzii kulla kafuur

And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbe­lieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest.

Wa 'izaa qiila lahum 'anfiquu mim-maa razaqakumul- laahu qaalallaziina kafaruu lillaziina ’aamanuuu 'anut-’imu mallaw yashaaa-’ullaahu ’at- ‘amahz-’ln 'antum 'illaa fii zalaalim-mubiin

Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know

Fakafaruu bihii fasawfa ya’-lamuun !

Nay, but those who disbe­lieve are in false pride and schism.

Balillaziina kafaruu fii ‘izzatinwwa shiqaaq

And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve in the Fire!

Wa maa khalaqnas- samaaa-’a wal-’arza wa maa baynahumaa baatilaa ! Zaalika zannullaziina kafaruu ! Fa-waylul- lillaziina kafaruu minan-Naar

His are the keys of the heav­ens and the earth, and they who disbelieve the revelations of Allah- such are they who are the losers

Lahuu maqaaliidus-samaa- waati wal-’arz; wallaziina kafaruu bi-’Aayaatillaahi ’ulaaa-’ika humul-khaasiruun.

And those who disbelieve are driven unto hell in troops till, when they reach it and the gates thereof are opened, and the warders thereof say unto them: Came there not unto you messengers of your own, reciting unto you the revelations of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this your Day? They say: Yea, verily. But the word of doom for disbelievers is fulfilled.

Wa siiqallaziina kafaruuu ’ilaa Jahannama zumaraa: Hattaaa’izaa jaaa-’uuhaafutihat 'abwaabuhaa wa qaala lahum khazanatuhaaa ’alam ya’-ti-kum rusulum-mihkum yatluuna ‘alaykum ’Aayaati Rabbikum wa yunziruunakum Liqaaa-’a Yawmikum haazaa? Qaaluu balaa wa laakin haqqat Kalimatul-'Azaabi'alal-kaafiriin!

None argue concerning the revelations of Allah save those who disbelieve, so let not their turn of fortune in the land deceive thee (O Muhammad).

Maa yujaadilu fiii’Aayaatil- laahi ’illallaziina kafaruu falaa yagrurka taqallubuhum fil-bi- laad

Thus was the word of thy Lord concerning those who disbelieve fulfilled: that they are owners of the Fire

Wa kazaalika haqqat Kalimatu Rabbika ‘alallaziina kafaruuu ’annahum ’As-haabun- Naar

Lo! (on that day) those who lisbelieve are informed by proc- lamation: Verily Allah’s abhorrence is more terrible than your abhor­rence one of another, when ye were called unto the faith but did refuse.

’Innallaziina kafaruu yunaadawna lamaqtullaahi ’akbaru  mim-maqtikum

’anfusakum ’iz tud-’awna 'ilal- 'iimaani fatakfuruun.

That was because their messengers kept bringing them clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty) butthey disbelieved; so Allah seized them. Lo! He is Strong, Severe in punishment.

Zaalika bi-’annahum kaanat-ta’-tiihim rusuluhum-bil- bayyinaatifakafaruufa-’akhaza- humullaah: ’innahuu Qawiyyuri- Shadiidul-’iqaab

Those who disbelieve say: Heed not this Qur’an, and drown the hearing of it; haply ye may conquer

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu laa tasma-’uu lihaazal-Qur- 'aani walgaw fiihi la-‘allakum taglibuun!

But verily We shall cause those who disbelieve to taste an awful do­om, and verily We shall requite them the worst of what they used to do

Falanuziiqannallaziina kafaruu ‘azaaban shadiidanw- wa lanajzi-yannahum 'aswa- ’allazii kaanuu ya’-maluun.

And those who disbelieve will say: Our Lord! Show us those who beguiled us of the jinn and humankind. We will place them underneath our feet that they may be among the nethermost.

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu Rabbanaaa ’arinallaziina 'azallaanaa minal-jinni wal-’insi naj-’alhumaa lahta ’aqdaa- minaa liyakuunaa minal-’asfaliin

Lo! those who disbelieve in the Reminderwhen it cometh unto them (are guilty), for lo! it is an unassailable Scripture

’Innallaziina kafaruu biz- Zikri lammaa jaaa-’ahum. Wa ’innahuu la-Kitaabun ‘Aziiz

And verily, if We cause him to taste mercy from Us after some hurt that hath touched him, he will say: This is my own; and I deem not that the Hour will ever rise, and if I am brought back to my Lord, I surely shall be better off with Him- But We verily shall tell those who disbelieve (all) that they did, and We verily shall make them taste hard punishment

Wa la-’in ’.azaqnaahu Rah- matam-minnaa mim-ba‘-di zarraaa-’a massat-hu layaquu- lanna haazaa lii wa maaa 'azunnus-Saa-’ata qaaa- ’imatanw-wa la-’ir-ruji‘-tu ’ilaa Rabbiii ’inna lii ‘indahuu lalhusnaa! Falanunabbi-’annal- laziina kafaruu bimaa ‘amiluu, wa lanuziiqan-nahum-min ‘Azaabin galii

..those who disbelieve….

Haazaa Hudaa: wallaziina kafaruu bi-’Aayaati-Rabbihim lahum ‘Azaabum-mir-rijzin ’aliim

And as for those who disbelieved (it will be said unto them): Were not Our revelations recited unto you? But ye were scornful and became a guilty folk

Wa’ammallaziina kafaruu: 'afalam takun 'Aayaatii tutlaa -alaykum fas-tak-bartum wa kuntum qawmam-mujrimiin

And when Our dear revelations are recited unto them, those who disbelieve say of the Truth when it reacheth them: This is mere magic.

Wa ’izaa tutlaa ‘alay-him ’Aayaatunaa Bayyinaatin qaa- lallaziina kafaruu lil-Haqqi lammaa jaaa-’ahum haazaa sihrum-mubiin

And those who disbelieve say of those who believe: If it had been (any) good, they would not have been before us in attaining it. And since they will not be guided by it, they say: This is an ancient lie;

Wa qaalallaziina kafaruu lillaziina ’aamanuu law kaana khay-ram-maa sabaquunaaa 'ilayh! Wa 'iz lam yahtaduu bihii fasa-yaquuluuna haazaaa ’ifkun-qadiim!

And on the Day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (it will be said): Ye squandered your good things in your life of the world and sought comfort therein. Now this Day ye are rewarded with the doom of ignominy because ye were disdainful in the land without a right, and because ye used to transgress

Wa Yawma yu‘- razullaziina kafaruu ‘alan-Naar. 'Azhabtum tayyibaatikum fii hayaa-tikumud-dunyaa wastam-ta‘-tum-bihaa: fal- Yawma tuj-zawna ‘azaabal- huuni bimaa kuntum tastakbiruuna fil-’arzi bi-gayril- haqqi wa bimaa kuntum tafsuquun

And on the Day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (they will be asked): Is not this real? They will say: Yea, by our Lord. He will say: Then taste the doom for that ye disbelieved

Wa Yawma yu‘-razul- laziina kafaruu ‘alan-Naar ’a-laysa haazaa bil-Haqq? Qaaluu balaa’wa Rabbinaa! Qaala fazuuqul-’azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuruun!

That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and because those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus Allah coineth their similitudes for mankind

Zaalika bi-’annallaziina kafarut-taba-’ul-baatila" wa 'annallaziina ‘aamanut-taba-'ul- Haqqa mir-Rabbihim: kazaalika yazribul-laahu lirinaasi 'amsaalahum

Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bounds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain

Fa-’izaa laqiitu-mullaziina kafaruu fazarbar-riqaab; hattaaa ’izaaa ’askhan-tumuuhum fashuddul-wasaaqa fa-’immaa mannam-ba‘-du wa ’immaa fidaaa-’an hattaa taza-’al-harbu ’awzaarahaa. Zaalika wa law yashaaa-’ullaahu lantasara minhum wa laakil-liyab-luwa ba‘- zukum-biba‘-z. Wallaziina qutiluu fii Sabiilillaahi falany- yuzilla ’a‘-maalahum.

nd those who disbelieve, perdition is for them, and He will make their actions vain

Wallaziina kafaruu fata‘- sal-lahum wa ’azalla ’a‘- maalahum.

Lo! Allah will cause those who believe and do good works to enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; while those who disbelieve take their comfort in this life and eat even as the cattle eat, and the Fire is their habitation

’Innallaaha yud-khilul-lazi- ina ’aamanuu wa ‘amilus-saali- haati Jannaatin-tajrii min-tahtihal- ’arihaar; wallaziina kafaruu yata- matta-’uuna wa ya’-kuluuna ka- maa ta’-kulul-’an-‘aamu wan- Naaru maswal-lahum

Lo! those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and oppose the messenger after the guidance hath been manifested unto them, they hurt Allah not a jot, and He will make their actions fruitless

’Innallaziina kafaruu wa sadduu ‘an-Sabiilillaahi wa shaaaqqur-Rasuula mim-ba‘-di maa tabayyana lahumul-Hudaa lany-yazurrullaaha shay-’aa: wa sayuh-bitu ’a‘-maala-hum

Lo! those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and then die disbelievers, Allah surely will not pardon them

’Innallaziina kafaruu wa sadduu ‘an-Sabiilillaahi §umma maatuu wa hum kuffaarun- falany-yagfirallaahu lahum

And if those who disbelieve join battle with you they will take to flight, and afterward they will find no protecting friend nor helper

Wa law qaatalakumullazi- ina kafaruu lawalla-wul-’adbaara summa laa yajiduuna waliyy- anw-wa laa naçiiraa

ese it was who disbelieved and debarred you from the I nviola- ble Place of Worship, and debarred the offering from reaching its goal. And if it had not been for believing men and believing women, whom ye know not-lest ye should tread them underfoot and thus incur guilt for them unknowingly; that Allah might bring into His mercy whom he will—If (the believers and the disbelievers) had been clearly separated, We verily had punished those of them who disbelieved with painful punishment

Humullaziina kafaruu wa sadduukum ‘anil-Masjidil-Ha- raami wal-hadya ma‘-kuufan ’any-yabluga mahillah. Wa law laa rijaalum-Mu’-minuuna wa nisaaa-’um-Mu’-minaatul-lam ta‘-lamuuhum ’an-tata-’uuhum fatus iibakum-m inhum-ma- ‘arratum-bi-gayri ‘ilm, li- yudkhilallaahu fii Rahmatihii many-yashaaa’. Lawtazayyaluu la-'azzabnallaziina kafaruu minhum ‘azaaban ’aliimaa

When those who disbelieve had set up in their hearts zealotry, the zealotry of the Age of Ignorance, then Allah sent down His peace of reassurance upon His messenger and upon the believers and imposed on them the word of selfrestraint, for they were worthy of it and meet for it. And Allah is Aware of all things.

’Iz ja-‘alallaziina kafaruu fii quluubihimul-hamiyyata Hamiyyatal-Jaahi-liyyati fa- 'anzalallaahu Sakiinatahuu 'alaa Rasuulihii wa ‘alal-Mu’-miniina wa 'alzamahum kali-matat-taqwaa wa kaanuuu 'ahaqqa bihaa wa 'ahlahaa. Wa kaanallaahu bi-kulli shay-’in ‘Aliimaa

And woe unto those who disbelieve, from (that) their day which they are promised

Fa-way-lul-lillaziina kafaruu mihy-Yawmihimullazii yuu-’aduun!

Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared

’Am yuriiduuna kay-daa? Fallaziina kafaruu humul- makiiduun

So this Day no ransom can be taken from you nor from those who disbelieved. Your home is the Fire; that is your patron, and a hapless journey’s end.

Fal-Yawma laa yu’-khazu minkum fidyatunw-wa laa mi- nallaziina kafaruu. Ma’-waa- kumun-Naar: hiya mawlaakum: wa bi’-sal-Masiir

hose who believe in Allah and His messengers, they are the truthful; and the martyrs are with their Lord; they have their reward and their light; while as for those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire

Wallaziina 'aamanuu bil-laahi wa rusulihiii ’ulaaa-’ika humus-Siddiiquuna wash- Shuhadaka-’u ‘inda Rabbihim: lahum 'Ajruhum wa Nuuru-hum. Wallaziina kafaruu wa kazzabuu bi-’Aayaatinaaa ’ulaaa-’ika ’As- haabul-Jahiim

O ye who believe ! Choose ot My enemy and your enemy for iends. Ye give them friendship, 'hen they disbelieve in that truth hich hath come unto you, driving ut the messenger and you ecause ye believe in Allah, your 3rd? If ye have come forth to rive in My way and seeking My 3od pleasure, (show them not friendship). Ye show friendship unto them in secret when I am best Aware of what ye hide and what ye proclaim? And whosoever doth it among you, he verily hath strayed from the right way

Yaaa-’ayyu-hallaziina ’aa­manuu laatattakhizuu ‘aduwwii wa ‘aduwwakum 'awli-yaaa-’a tulquuna ’ilay-him-bil-mawaddati wa qad kafaruu bimaa jaaa-'akum- minal-Haqqi, yukhrijuunar-Rasuula wa 'iyyaakum 'an-tu’-minuu billaahi Rabbikum! 'In kuntum kharajtum jihaadan-fii Sabiilii wa btigaaa-'a Marzaatii tusirruuna 'ilay-him bil-mawaddati wa ’ana ’a‘-lamu bimaaa ’akh-faytum wa maaa ’a‘-lantum. Wa many-yaf- ‘alhu minkum faqad zalla Sawaaa-’as-Sabiil

Our Lord! Make us not a prey for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord! Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, the Wise

Rabbanaa laa taj-’alnaa fitnatal-lillaziina kafaruu wag-fir lanaa Rabbanaa! ’Innaka 'An- tal-‘Aziizul-Hakiim

That • is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed so that they understand not.

Zaalika bi-’annahum 'aa­manuu summa kafaruu fa-tubi- ‘a ‘alaa quluubihim fahum laa yaf-qahuun.

Hath not the story reached you of those who disbelieved of old and so did taste the ill-effects of their con­duct, and theirs will be a painful doom !

’Alam ya’-tikum naba-’ul- laziina kafaruu -min-qablz Fazaaquu wabaala ’amrihim wa lahum ‘azaabun ’aliim

That was because their mes­sengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s sovereignty), but they said: Shall mere mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was Independent (of them). Allah is Absolute, OwnerofPraise

Zaalika bi-’annahuu kaanat- ta’-tiihim rusuluhum-bil-Bayyi- naati faqaaluuu ’a-basharuny- yahduunanaa? Fakafaruu wa tawallaw-was-tagnallaah: wal­laahu Ganiyyun Hamiid

Those who disbelieve assert that they will not be raised again. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Yea, verily, by my Lord! ye will be raised again and then ye will be informed of what ye did; and that is easy for Allah

Za-‘amallaziina kafaruuu ’allany-yub-‘a§uu. Qui balaa wa Rabbii latub-’asunna summa latunabba-’unna bimaa ‘amiltum. Wa zaalika ’alallaahi yasiir.

But those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, such are owners of the Fire; they will abide therein- a hapless journey’s end

allaziina kafaruu wa kazzabuu bi-’ Aayaatinaaa ’ulaaa- ’ika ’As-haabun-Naari khaalidiina fiihaa: wa bi’-sal-Masiir.

Thenitwillbesaid):Oyewho disbelieve! Make no excuses for yourselves this Day. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do

Yaaa-’ayyuhallaziina kafaruu laa ta‘-tazirul-Yawm! 'Innamaa tujzawna maa kuntum ta‘-maluun

Allah citeth an example for lose who disbelieve: the wife of oah and the wife of Lot, who ere under two of Our righteous aves yet betrayed them so that ey (the husbands) availed them them naught against Allah and it was said (unto them): Enter the Fire along with those who enter

araballaahu masalal- lillaziina kafarumra-’ata Nuuhinw-wamra-’ata Luut. Kaanataa tahta ‘Abdayni min 'ibaadinaa saalihayni fa- khaanataahumaa falam yugniyaa ‘anhumaa minallaahi shay-’anw-wa qiilad-khulan- Naara ma-‘addaakhiliin

And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey’s end

Wa lillaziina kafaruu bi- Rabbihim ‘Azaaba Jahannam: wa bi’-sal-masiir

But when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said (unto them): This is that for which ye used to call

Falammaa ra-’awhu zul- fatan-siii-’at wujuuhullaziina kafaruu wa qiila haazallazii kuritum-bihii tadda-'uun

And lo! those who disbelieve would fain disconcert thee with their eyes when they hear the Reminder, and they say: Lo! he is indeed mad;

Wa ’iny-yakaadullaziina kafaruu layuz-liquunaka bi- ’abçaarihim lammaa sami-‘uz- Zikra wa yaquuluuna 'innahuu la-majnuun

What aileth those who disbe­lieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed

Famaa lillaziina kafaruu qibalaka muhti-‘iin

We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the fire, and their number have We made to be a stumblingblock for thosewho disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals

Wa maa ja-‘alnaaa 'Ashaabannaari ’illaa malaaa- 'ikah. Wa maa ja-‘alnaa ‘iddata- hum ’illaa fitnatal-lillaziina kafaruu li-yastay-qinallaziina ’uutul-Kitaaba wa yazdaadal- laziina ’aamanuuu 'iimaananw- wa laa yartaaballaziina 'uutul- Kitaaba wal-Mu’-minuuna wa li- yaquuiallaziina fii quluubi-him marazunw-wal-kaafiruuna maa- zaaa 'araadallaahu bihaazaa ma§alaa? Kazaalika yugill’ull- aahu many-yashaaa-’u wa yahdii many-yashaaa’. Wa maa ya‘-lamu junuuda Rabbika ’illaa Huu. Wa maa hiya 'illaa zikraa lil-bashar

Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny

Balil-laziina kafaruu yukazzibuun

Nay, but those who disbel'eve live in denial

Balil-laziina kafaruu fii takziib!

Butthosewho disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand.  

Wallaziina kafaruu bi- z ’Aayaatinaa hum ’As-haabul-mash-’amah

Those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters could not have left off (erring) till the clear proof came unto them,

Lam yakunil-laziina kafaruu min ’Ahlil-Kitaabi wal- Mushrikiina munfakkiina hattaa ta’-tiya-humul-Bayyinah,-

Lo! those who disbelieve, among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings

’Innallaziina kafaruu min ’Ahlil-Kitaabi wa-Mushrikiina fii naari Jahannama khaalidiina fiihaa. 'Ulaaa-’ika hum sharrul- bariyyah

If .only the People of the Scripture would believe and ward off (evil), surely W-4 should remit their sins from thezrcand surely We should bring them into Gardens of Delight

Walaw’anna’Ahlal-Kitaabi 'aamanuu wattaqaw la-

kaffarnaa‘anhum sayyi-’aati- him wala-’ad-khalnaahum Jan- naatin-Na-‘iim

That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and because those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus Allah coineth their similitudes for mankind

The wandering Arabs are more hard in disbelief and hypocrisy, and more likely to be ignorant of the limits which Allah hath revealed unto His messenger. And Allah is Knower, Wise

’Al-’a‘raabu ’ashaddu kufranw-wa nifaaqanwwa ’ajdaru ’allaa ya’-lamuu huduuda maaa ’anzalal-laahu ‘alaa Rasuulih: wallaahu ‘Aliimun Hakiim

And He giveth you of all ye ask of Him, and if ye would count the bounty of Allah ye cannot reckon it. Lo! man is verily a wrong­doer, an ingrate.

Wa ’aataakum-min-kulli maa sa-’altumuuh. Wa 'in-ta- ‘udduu ni’matal-laahi laa tuh- suuhaa. ’Innal-’insaana la-za- luu-mun-kaffaar

TheyknowthefavourofAllah and then deny it. Most of them are ingrates.

Ya'-rifuuna ni’matallaahi summa yunkiruunahaa wa ’ak- saruhumul-kaafiruun

Lo! the squanderers were ever brothers of the devils, and the devil was ever an ingrate to his Lord

'Innal-mubazziriinakaan- uuu 'ikhwaanash-shayaatiin: wa kaanash-Shaytaanu li-Rab- bihii kafuuraa.

Lo! Allah defendeth those who are true. Lo! Allah loveth not treacherous ingrate

'Innallaaha yudaafi-'u'anil- laziina ’aamanuu:        ’inna  l-laaha laa yuhibbu kulla khaw- waanih-kafuur

And He it is Who gave you life, then He will cause you to die, and then will give you life (again). Lo! man is verily an ingrate

WaHuwallaziii’ahyaakum summa yumiitukum summa yuhyiikum: ’innal-’insaana la- kafuur!

And verily We have repeated it among them that they may remember, but most of mankind begrudge aught save ingratitude

Wa laqad sarrafnaahu bay-nahum li-yazzakkaruu, fa-’abaaa 'aksarun-naasi ’illaa kufuuraa

And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates

Wa fa-’alta fa’-latakalla tii fa-‘alta wa ’anta minal-kaa-firiin

And if a wave enshroudeth them like awnings, they cry unto Allah, making their faith pure for Him only. But when He bringeth them safe to land, some of them compromise. None denieth Our signs save every traitor ingrate

Wa 'izaa gashiyahum- mawjuh-kaç-çulali da-‘a-wul- laaha Mukhlisiina lahud-diin. Falammaa najjaahum ’ilal-barri faminhum-muqtasid. Wa maa yajhadu bi-’Aayaatinaaa ’illaa kullu khattaarin-kafuur I

This We awarded them because of their ingratitude. Punish We ever any save the ingrates

Zaalika jazaynaahum- bimaa kafaruu: wa hal nujaaziii ‘illal-kafuur.

But as for those who isbelieve, for them is fire of hell; taketh not complete effect upon îem so that they can die, nor is its )rment lightened for them. Thus /e punish every ingrate.

Wallaziina kafaruu lahum Naaru Jahannam; laa yuqjaa ‘alayhim fayamuutuu wa laa yukhaffafu ‘anhum-min ‘Azaa- bihaa. Kazaalika najzii kulla kafuur !

But if they are averse, We have not sent thee as a warder ove r them. Thine is only to convey (the message). And lo! when We cause man to taste of mercy from Us he exulteth therefor. And if some evil striketh them because of that which their own hands have sent before, then lo! man is an ingrate

Fa-’in ’a‘-razuu famaaa ’arsalnaaka ‘alayhim hafiizaa. ‘In ‘alayka ‘illal-balaag. Wa ’innaaa ’izaaa ’azaqnal-’ihsaana minnaa Rahmatan-fariha bihaa: wa 'in- tusibhum sayyi-’atum-bimaa qaddamat ’aydiihim fa-’innal- 'insaana kafuur

And they allotto Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate.

Wa ja-‘aluu lahuu min ‘ibaadihiijuz-’aal'lnnal-’insaana lakafuurum-mubiin

Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate

’Al-qiyaa fii Jahannama kulla kaffaarin ‘aniid

If Thou shouldst leave them, they will mislead Thy slaves and will beget none save lewd ingrates

And when We made with you a covenant and caused the Mount to tower above you, (saying): Hold fast by that which We have given you, and hear (Our Word), they said: We hear and we rebel. And (worship of) the calf was made to sink into their hearts because of their rejection (of the covenant). Say (unto them): Evil is that which your belief enjoineth on you, if ye are believers

Wa ’iz ’akhaznaa Miisaaqakum wa rafa‘-naa fawqakumut-Tuur: Khuzuu maaa’aataynaakum-bi-quwwa- tinw-wasma-‘uu. Qaaluu sami‘- naa wa ‘asaynaa: wa ’ush-ribuu fii quluubihimul-'ijla bi-kufrihim. Qui bi’-samaa ya’-murukum- bihiii ’iimaanukum ’in-kuntum- mu’-miniin

Therefore remember Me, I will remember you. Give thanks to Me, and reject not Me

Faz-kuruuniii ’az-kurkum washkuruu lii wa laa takfuruun

He hath already revealed unto you in the Scripture that when ye hear the revelations of Allah re­jected and derided, (ye) sit not with them (who disbelieve and mock) until they engage in some other conversation. Lo! in that case (if ye stayed) ye would be like unto them. Lo ! Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers, all together, into hell

Wa qad nazzala ‘alaykum fil-Kitaabi 'an 'izaa sami'-tum ’Aayaa-tillaahiyukfaru bihaa wayustah-za-’u bihaa falaa taq- ‘uduu ma-‘ahum hattaa yakhuuzuu fii hadii§in gayrih. ’Innakum ’izam-mi§luhum. 'Innallaàba jaami-’ul- Munaa-fiqiina wal-kaafiriina fii Jahannama jamii-‘aa

So hetumedfromthemandsaid: O my people ! I delivered my Lord’s messages unto you and gave you good advice; then how can I sorrow for a people that rejected (truth)?

Fata-wallaa ‘anhum wa qaala yaa-qawmi laqad ’ablag- tukum risaa-laati Rabbii wa na- sahtu lakum; fakay-fa ’aasaa ‘alaa qaw-min-kaafiriin

Then whoso doth good works and is a believer, there will be no rejection of his effort. Lo! We record (it) for him

Famany-ya‘-mal minas- Saalihaati wa huwa Mu’-mi-nun falaa kufraana li-sa‘-yih: wa ’Innaa lahuu kaatibuun.

There will be none to inter­cede for them of those whom they made equal with Allah. And they will reject their partners (whom they ascribed unto Him

Wa lam yakul-lahum-min Shurakaaa-’ihim shufa-‘aaa-’u wa kaanuu bi-Shurakaaa-’ihim kaafiriin

Then, when they saw Our doom, they said: We believe in Allah only and reject (all) that we used to associate (with Him).

Falammaa ra-’aw Ba’- sanaa qaaluuu 'aamannaa billaahi Wahdahuu wa kafarnaa bimaa kunnaa bihii mushrikiin

Bethink you: If it is from Allah and ye reject it-who is further astray than one who is at open feud (with Allah)?

Qui 'ara-’aytum ’in-kaana min ‘indillaahi summa kafartum- bihii man ’azallu mimman huwa fii shiqaaqim-ba-‘iid

That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected.

Tajrii bi-’a‘-yuninaa; ja- zaaa-’al-liman-kaana kufir

That He may ask the loyal of their loyalty. And He hath prepared a painful doom for the unfaithful

Liyas-’alas-Saadiqiina ‘an Sidqihim: wa ’a-‘adda lil- kaafiriina 'Azaaban 'aliimaa

And when mankind are gath­ered (to the Judgement) they will become enemies for them, and will become deniers of having been worshipped by them.

Wa ’izaa hushiran-naasu kaanuu lahum ’a‘-daaa-’anwwa kaanuu bi-‘ibaadatihim kaafiriin

And if We cause man to taste -SomeNmercy from Us and afterward withdraw it from him, Lo! he is despairing, thankless

Wa la-’in’azaqnal-’insaana minnaa Rahmatan-summa naza'-naahaa minhu, ’innahuu laya-’uusun-kafuur

And when your Lord proclaimed: If ye give thanks, I will give you more; but if ye are thankless, lo! my punishment is dire

Wa ’iz ta-’azzana Rabbu- kum la-’in-shakar-tum la-’azii- danna-kum wa la-’ih-kafar-tum 'inna ‘azaabii la-shadiid

And Moses said: Though ye and all who are in the earth prove thankless, lo! Allah verily is Absolute, Owner of Praise

And when harm toucheth you upon the sea, all unto whom ye cry (forsuccour) fail save Him (alone), but when He bringeth you safe to land, ye turn away, for man was ever thankless

Wa’izaamassakumuzzur- ru fil-bahri zalla man-tad-'uuna ’illaaa ’iyyaah! Falammaa naj- jaakum ’ilal-barri ’a’-raztum. Wa kaanal-’ihsaanu kafuuraa

Or feel ye secure that He will not return you to that (plight) a second time, and send against you a hurricane of wind and drown you for your thanklessness, and then ye will not find therein that ye have any avenger against Us?

'Am 'amiritum ’ariyyu-‘ii- dakum fiihi taaratan 'ukhraa fa- yursila ‘alaykum qaasifam- minar-riihi fa-yugriqakum-bi- maa kafartum summa laa tajiduu lakum ’alaynaa bihii ta- bii-'aa

If ye are thankless, yet Allah is Independent of you, though He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen; and if ye are thankful He is pleased therewith for you. No laden soul will bear another’s load. Then unto your Lord is your return, and He will tell you what ye used to do. Lo! He knoweth what is in the breasts (of men

-takfuruu fa-’innallaaha Ganiyyun ‘ankum: wa laa yarzaa li-‘ibaadihil-kufr: wa ’in-tashkuruu yarzahu lakum. Wa laa taziru waaziratunwwizra ’ukhraa. Summa 'ilaa Rabbikum-Marji- ‘ukum fayunabbi-’ukum-bimaa kuntum ta‘-maluun. ’Innahuu ‘Aliimum-bi-zaatis-suduur

Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are the ungrateful who will not believe

’Inna sharrad-dawaaabbi ‘indallaa-hillaziina kafaruu fa- hum laa yu'-mi-nuun

One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze retumeth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul: and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul’s hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful

Qaalallazii ‘iridahuu ‘il- mum-minal-Kitaabi 'ana ’aatii­ka bihii qabla ’any-yartadda ’ilayka tarfuk ! Falammaa ra’aahu mustaqirran ’indahuu qaala haazaa miri-fazli Rabbii liyabluwaniii 'a-’ashkuru 'am ’akfur ! Wa mari-sljakara fa- ’innamaayash-kuru li-nafsih; wa man-kafara fa-’inna Rabbii Ganiyyuri-Kariim

That they may be ungrate­ful for what We have given them and that they may enoy it. But they will come to know

’Awalam yaraw ’annaa ja'alnaa Haraman ’aaminanw- wa yutakhattafunnaasu min hawli- him? ’Afa-bil-baatili yu'-minuuna wa bi-ni‘-matillaahi yakfuruun

Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful.

’Irinaa haday-naahus- sabiila ’immaa shaakiranw-wa ’immaa kafuuraa

Woe to man! How ungrateful is he

Qutilal-’insaanu maaa ’akfarah

Have they not seen that Allah Who created the heavens and the earth is Able to create the like of them, and hath appointed for them an end whereof there is no doubt? Butthewrong-doers refuse aught save disbelief.

'Awalam yaraw 'annallaa- hallazii khalaqas-samaawaati wal-’arzaQaadirun ‘alaaa 'any- yakhluqa mislahum wa ja-‘ala lahum 'ajalal-laa rayba fiih. Fa- ’abaz-zaalimuuna 'illaa kufuuraa

verily We gave Luqman wisdom, saying: Give thanks unto Allah; and whosoever giveth thanks, he giveth thanks for (the good of) his soul. And whosoever refuseth-Lo! Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise

Wa laqad 'aataynaa Luqrrfaanal-Hikmata ’anish-kur lillaah. Wa many-yashkur fa- ’innamaa yashkuru linafsih: wa mah-kafara fa-’innallaaha Ganiyyun lzamiid.

Lo! (on that day) those who lisbelieve are informed by proc- lamation: Verily Allah’s abhorrence is more terrible than your abhor­rence one of another, when ye were called unto the faith but did refuse.

’Innallaziina kafaruu yunaadawna lamaqtullaahi
